Keys

Some people have claimed that you can change the programming of your Mercedes key. This isn't factual. The key is programmed "for the duration of its life" and once it's programmed to one car it will never work with another. The key has a distinct design in its metal beam, and the Mercedes system looks for this and only recognizes the specific key. The keys for the truck that are blank are different in shape and will not work in the system.

truck key copy must obtain a new, compatible key for your vehicle from Mercedes; they don't keep keys in the parts department. You'll need the original registration or title and driver's license, passport, or identity card to present when picking up the key. This helps confirm that the person who is picking up the key is the owner and not someone trying to steal the vehicle.

If you would like to have a representative or delegate pick keys for you, they will require all the documentation above and an authorized letter dated by the owner. The authorized representative or delegates must also bring the car to the dealership to retrieve the keys. Contact the dealer if have any questions. They will be happy to help. They will tell you if they already have the key or if Mercedes requires a new, compatible key.

Remotes

In some MERCEDES vehicles the remote key comes with touchscreens that display virtual buttons. When the remote key is pressed, infrared signals are sent to control devices. The screen can be programmed using a graphical interface program on the user's computer. The "buttons" on the screen are actually images that represent components of an electronic circuit. These are resistors (resistors), capacitors (inductors) and potentiometers (potentiometers) as well as transistors (diodes) integrated circuits and switches and diodes.

It isn't easy to open the door of your truck if you've locked your keys in the boot. This is because the lock cylinder and door of the Mercedes-Benz could be damaged. You could try using a rope tied with a slip knot to hook the lock cylinder and pull it open, but it's not a foolproof method. You may have try it several times, or even contact an expert locksmith or roadside assistance service to help open the truck without damaging it.

The lower-level case has a panel which is able to be opened to store the batteries. The panel is a light-brown color with white writing indicating which type of batteries are recommended (UM-4/AAA). It also has a Plus sign and Minus sign indents to indicate the direction the spring coils of the battery should be placed when installing the batteries.

Keyless Entry System

SmartKeys with Keyless Go unlock or start your car even when you don't have the key. This is achieved by through a process known as passive entry and go. The SmartKeys contain an RFID chip that allows the vehicle's computer to detect a driver by detecting the key in close proximity.

The key transmits signals at a low frequency that are picked up inside and outside the door handles. If the transmission matches the ID of the PASE module (Passive Access and Security electronics) the system allows the key to function as a passkey to operate the vehicle.

These systems are intended for "replay attacks," where a hacker could record and replay control signals in order to gain access to an automobile or building. To prevent this the risk, a specific algorithm makes sure that every transmission sent by the key fob differs from the previous ones. The PASE module in the car will be able to detect any attempt by a criminal to record one of these transmissions and then attempts to duplicate it.
