"My whole body—my mind, my spirit—needed this desperately."
LeAnn Rimes posed nude for Glamour to raise awareness about psoriasis , and penned an essay for the magazine about her experience living and performing with the chronic skin disorder . "You know when you say something you’ve been holding in for so long, and it’s such a sigh of relief? That's what these photos are to me," LeAnn captioned the photos on Instagram. "I needed this. My whole body—my mind, my spirit—needed this desperately. With today being World Psoriasis Day, I thought this would be the perfect time to share my story."
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disorder that causes the body to in a matter of days instead of weeks, so excess skin cells build up in thick, scaly patches called plaques. It affects 2 to 3% of the global population, and 8 million Americans, according to the . As LeAnn described, the condition is lifelong, and often manifests in flare-ups triggered by stress.
The country music star also opened up about having psoriasis as a child. "I was only two years old when I was diagnosed with psoriasis. By the time I was six, about 80% of my body was covered in painful red spots—everything but my hands, feet, and face," LeAnn wrote. "These weren’t the days when there were commercials about psoriasis on TV or open discussions about skin conditions. No one was talking about this. And certainly not when I signed my first record deal at 11." She tried steroid creams and other medications, but nothing seemed to work. So she would wear jeans and long-sleeved clothing onstage during heat waves to cover her flare-ups.
In her twenties, LeAnn found a treatment to control the skin condition, and went 16 years without a flare-up. Until 2020. " All hell broke loose in the world—and inside of me, as I’m sure it did for so many other people amid this pandemic," she wrote. "Stress is a common trigger for psoriasis, and with so much uncertainty happening, my flare-ups came right back."
Hours after her essay went live, LeAnn took to Instagram Stories to address her fans. "Hey everyone I just wanted to come on here and say thank you so much for the overwhelming outpouring of love. It has been quite an activating day," she said. "To sit in all of this and to allow myself to be seen so deeply, I know there's so many out there who relate to this, and relate to me, and I relate to you and everything you're going through."
"That was my main reason for wanting to share so vulnerably, because I know so many people are struggling and do struggle with psoriasis amongst many, many other things, she said. "I wanted to share in our humanness. So just know that you are loved and you are worthy as I tell myself to same thing over and over again."

LeAnn Rimes made a powerful statement. She talked about her struggles with psoriasis. She shared two nude and “unabashedly honest” photos of herself on Instagram. The 38-year-old country singer shared them on Thursday, November 5 to commemorate World Psoriasis Day.
In addition, she wrote a candid essay for Glamour . The “How Do I Live” singer talked about her journey with psoriasis and how it caused insecurity issues. LeAnn posed completely nude for the photoshoot, giving her fans a glimpse at her skin for the first time.
She revealed she was diagnosed with psoriasis at age 2. But the time she was 6 years old, six red marks covered 80% of her body.
The Northern Lights actress took to Instagram to post two nude photos. In her caption, she revealed, “I needed this.” Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes itchy, red, scale patches. Patients go through cycles, often flaring up for several weeks or months, and there is no cure, according to the Mayo Clinic .
“You know when you say something you’ve been holding in for so long, and it’s such a sigh of relief?” LeAnn wrote in the caption . “That’s what these photos are to me. I needed this. My whole body—my mind, my spirit—needed this desperately.”
While music is her first passion, LeAnn said she wants to “give a voice to these other pieces of me.” She also wants to inspire others who are struggling with psoriasis. “This is finally my time to be unabashedly honest about what psoriasis is and what it looks,” she added.
LeAnn Rimes wanted to get candid about her struggles. The Coyote Ugly star felt so insecure for so many years. And now she finally feels like she’s herself again. LeAnn told her fans that she’s sick of hiding her body.
“We’re at a moment in time right now when we’re all being stripped of everything we thought we needed – and now we can see how worthy and good enough we are without all of the bull****,” she writes in her essay. “We’re worthy without the makeup and the artifice. [I’m] worthy of love without having to work for it. And that’s why I’m tired of hiding.”
But she’s unsure whether these nude photos will give her the confidence to “wear shorts out to the grocery store.” Instead, LeAnn is giving herself freedom “in even just putting one foot outside the door.” She hopes those who hide will have “the courage to step outside of that cage.”
In the meantime, LeAnn has been offering guided meditation through Instagram amid the coronavirus pandemic. She also released a new song titled “There Will Be a Better Day,” which she performed on Instagram back in March.
I don’t care she’s beautiful and I’d make love to her anyway…😁❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍

LeAnn Rimes spends much of her time showing off her tiny frame on the beach, but the country music star may not have intended to show as much flesh at the NOH8 Campaign 4th Anniversary Celebration.
As she was escorted into Avalon Hollywood, LeAnn accidentally exposed her chest whilst navigating her way through excited fans.
The plunging neckline of the dress meant a bra couldn't be worn, but the use of tit tape may have prevented the flash on Wednesday night.

A confident woman, the indiscretion may not have fazed the singer too much, but in all likelihood, LeAnn may not have realised her chest was exposed at all.
Although she entered the venue without her husband, Eddie Cibrian soon joined her on the red carpet.

The event was put on to support the NOH8 Campaign, a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition, a piece of Californian legislation that amended the state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.
Now in it's fourth year, the campaign continues it's fight for LGBT rights, a terse issue being raised on both sides of the Atlantic.
