Focus of the 59th issue of the newsletter published by the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon focuses on the ongoing Major National Dialogue convened by the Head of State.

The Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of Cameroon in the 59th issue of its bilingual newsletter, “Le Temps des Réalisations” focuses on the Major National Dialogue President Paul Biya announced during his message to the nation on September 10, 2019. Covering the period July to September 2019, pages 10 to 27 of the 60-page newsletter is dedicated to the Major National Dialogue.

The publisher of the newsletter, Minister, Director of the Civil Cabinet of the Republic, Samuel Mvondo Ayolo in the editorial that runs from pages 4 to 8 titled, “Dialogue, the Decisive step”, sets the tone of the publication. He started by quoting the key message in the Head of State’s message which states the main objective of the dialogue, which is to

“ enable us to seek ways and means of meeting the high aspirations of the people of the North West and South West Regions but also of all the other components of the nation. The dialogue in question will mainly concern the situation in the North West and South West Regions.”

Having set the tone of the publication, the focus of the publication is on the Head of State’s message of September 10, 2019 convening the dialogue. The focus is entitled “Dialogue that leads to peace.” The speech is published entirely in French and English. Pages 22 to 25 of the newsletter that cover the slot called Digital is still dedicated to the message and here the reactions of the international community and Cameroonians are published. The last two pages of the Digital present the website of the Major National Dialogue.

The Head of State’s audience occupy another major part of the newsletter. Focus here is on farewell audiences he granted to outgoing Canadian High Commissioner, Nathalie O’Neil and French Ambassador Gilles Thibault. Other audiences include those with the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) officials, Geovic Mining Corporation Chairman, Michael T.Mason and the letters of credence presented by the new Ambassador of Turkey to Cameroon, Alyse Sarac.

The actions of government to promote Cameroon’s economic development is presented in the slot called “Opportunities.” The newsletter presents the country’s economic dividends.

The last part of the newsletter is dedicated to texts signed by the Head of State in the months of July and August 2019.

In the meantime, before the editorial, page four of the newsletter is entitled “Once upon a time” used to recall important events in the life of the nation. The event highlighted in the 59th issue of Le Temps des Réalisations is the celebrations marking the Fiftieth Anniversaries of Cameroon’s Independence and Reunification organised from May 17 to 19, 2010.
