One of the best movies ever made. Patrick Swayze is at his best playing a *surfer*. Keanu Reeves gives an outstanding performance in his search for the truth--absolutely exciting and riveting in every aspect.
along with "The Game", Three Burials", "Goodfellas" and "Scarface" this goes down as one of my all time fav's. compared to action films of today it rules all over!!!!i wont go into detail of the storyline! but everything about this movie is ace. the chemistry between Swayze and Reeves is good! the music is awesome, the diologue is cool and the vibe of the film makes you feel good! i mean after watching this i longed to join a gang, surf, drink corona , jump out of planes and rob banks (just kidding about the robbing part) :) I am not a huger fan of Keanu but he was made for this role!!!! you can tell it was made in 1990 due to the grunge haircuts and the whole personality of the film. To sum it up i can watch this over and over and enjoy!!!!! if you have not seen this yet- enjoy the experience.
A lot of what Bigelow puts up on the screen bypasses the brain altogether, plugging directly into our viscera, our gut. The surfing scenes in particular are majestically powerful, even awe-inspiring. Bigelow's picture is a feast for the eyes, but we watch movies with more than our eyes. She seduces us, then asks us to be bimbos.
Tapping the Source (1984), a novel by Kem Nunn, provided the inspiration for Point Break. It's called "Hundreds of Tears" by Sheryl Crow. Yes. There's likely no way a surfer as experienced as Bodhi could survive it. Bodhi even says earlier in the film when he describes the storm at Bell's Beach and how big the waves will be that surfing the break will be the "ultimate price". Bodhi had basically wished to die in a glorious manner and he did. a5c7b9f00b
