Latin NCAP provides safety ratings based on the assessment of adult occupant protection (passive/secondary safety), child occupant protection (passive/secondary safety), pedestrian and vulnerable road users protection and safety assist systems offered by the car model. Latin NCAP awards the car model with a single star rating from zero to five stars.

Latin NCAP crash tests vehicles in order to provide accurate information for consumers about the safety performance of their cars. Latin NCAP offers consumers the opportunity to compare the safety performance of similar mass vehicles with their chosen vehicle.
The two-colour stars results correspond to the assessment protocols used between 2010 and 2015. As from 2016 the assessment protocols were expanded and became more demanding. These upgrade of the testing protocols include the unification of the colours of the stars used (yellow) to clearly identify the vehicles tested under the new protocol.
