Allergic reactions to latex range from uticaria, eczema, rhinitis and conjunctivitis to angioedema, bronchospasm and anaphylaxis. With the high use of latex containing products in a hospital setting, health care workers, certain children and the general patient population are at risk for developing latex allergies.
