Karl Lagerfeld has launched Private Klub, a new fragrance duo celebrating youth, life, optimism and the VIP guest list.
Private Klub for Women ~ A floriental with lemon, pink pepper, bergamot, rose, violet, magnolia, almond, musk and cashmeran. In 25, 45 and 85 ml Eau de Parfum.
Private Klub for Men ~ A spicy aromatic with grapefruit, lavender, basil, peppers, pineapple, cinnamon, cedar, vetiver and coumarin. In 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Maybe I’m feeling extra cranky today, but everything about this turns me off – the cheap looking bottles, the cheesy name, the reference to the VIP list, the juice itself (another floriental?). I’m obviously too old (so is Karl for that matter!) to be part of the target audience, but a new KL fragrance shouldn’t make me think Justin Bieber.
I don’t think you need to be cranky to find this a turn-off. Indeed, it is a hard thing to make me feel sorry for Karl Lagerfeld, but InterParfums has accomplished it
Maybe Smelling the Fragrances Would alleviate some of the Disgruntlement… They may not set the world alight but certainly may be perfectly Fine and Nice Smelling… Is a name all that Offensive?
It’s not just the name, although the name and the inspiration strike me as silly — like they’re copying the Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Club. But also, was extremely disappointed in what InterParfums has done under the Karl Lagerfeld name so far, they’re really just barely competent fragrances. I am not a huge personal fan of Karl Lagerfeld, but he’s a legend and deserves better.
That’s what I thought, C H did this quite a few years ago. So embarrassing for Choupette!

I’m always amazed that the creative mind behind Chanel and Fendi lets himself down so badly with his own line – everything about this looks and sounds tacky. He has his own store selling his own brand clothes here in London and that is incredibly tacky too with the worst, naffest window displays I’ve ever seen – it looks like a discount store!
He seems to curate the Chanel legacy with care but doesn’t give a damn about protecting his own name or reputation from tat like this.

Karl Lagerfeld has launched Private Klub , a new intense fragrance celebrating youth, life, confidence and a VIP guest list. Private Klub is a fragrance for women, inspired by the fleeting nightlife of a sexy woman who goes from club to club and a trail of scent left behind there.
Private Klub bottles are coated with a gold ombré lacquer for the women’s version and silver for the men’s and feature clean lines that evoke Karl Lagerfeld ’s ready-to-wear collections. The box and the bottles have identical designs to the first fragrance (Karl Lagerfeld) just the colour scheme is different. Really love the shape of these bottles with the buffed corners they ooze elegance and sophistication. The vial could have been very nice but the gold overspray gives it a cheap look.
Fragrance notes are as follows:
Top notes: Bergamot, Citrus, Peppercorns
Middle notes: Magnolia, Rose, Violet
Base notes: Almond, Musk, Cashmeran *
* Is a synthetic fragrance (not obtained from nature), but is based on musk / amber -> the sense of cashmere .. which can be found as a signature note in the Thierry Mugler fragrances.
This is classified in the floriental (floral oriental) family.
Even thought note wise some of the notes are the same as the original it smells really different in comparison, the original which I prefer is more light and floral very suitable for day time and private club is more warm and strong smelling more of an evening scent. The fragrance releases an ultra-feminine signature full of vitality, modernity and contemporary glamour. It’s a very unique perfume. It lingers very long. Peppercorns as a top note is something you smell immediately which is what makes it a very alluring perfume. This scent is sweet and very similar to Dolce & Gabbana the one desire.
