Talk about a full frontal facepalm. Lady Gaga fancies herself a performance artist, so it's not too surprising to hear news of the pop star doing something crazy in the name of art. But performing completely naked on stage? That's a new one… even for Gaga.
Mother Monster performed a surprise set at London nightclub G-A-Y this past weekend. Singing her new song "Venus," Gaga started the show dressed up as a ghost… but soon after stripped down to just her birthday suit.
Comedian Matt Lucas tweeted after the show: "Just saw Lady Gaga do a surprise set at G-A-Y... All agreed it was impressive but we're staying gay." Fair enough.
Gaga's performance was definitely racy, but is it the most R-rated on-stage performance of all time?
We all remember Miley's risque performance at the MTV VMAs, when the twerking pop star rubbed a foam finger all over herself.
Then, there was the time Justin Timberlake ripped off Janet Jackson's top on stage, exposing Ms. Jackson to millions of viewers during the Super Bowl Halftime show back in 2004.

The 27-year-old - who is currently promoting her new album - made a surprise appearance at London hotspot G-A-Y to perform her new single Venus, but shocked partygoers when she stripped off, leaving her naked body in full view.
The performance marked the Poker Face singer's first live performance of the single, and to ensure she was the talk of the night, stepped out of her dress at the end of the song.
Showing off her slender frame, the star - who had her breasts and bum on display - slowly made her way off the stage leaving a stunned audience shouting for more.

The singer/songwriter began her performance dressed as a ghost, wearing her blonde locks backcombed and a pair of eerie contact lenses.
She wore a loose-fitting white dress and walked around barefoot in her tribute to Halloween, which is officially on Wednesday.
Openly gay comedian Matt Lucas, who was at the Soho club, took to Twitter to air just how impressed he was with the impromptu performance.

While hundreds of other attendees were quick to take to the social networking site to tell people what they thought, Lady Gaga wrote that she was "inspired" by the performance.
"Had an amazing night tonight at G-A-Y in London, after all these years you continue to inspire me. Can't wait for X-Factor tomorrow night!" she wrote.

You would never describe Lady Gaga as the shy and retiring type, however the singer took things a step further when her Artpop tour arrived in New York on Tuesday.
The eccentric singer stripped almost naked on stage at Madison Square Gardens, when she was left wearing just a nude thong and fishnet tights.
The 28-year-old looked confident despite her chest being merely covered with a patch of fluorescent tape, as her crew helped her into another eye-catching look.

The Applause crooner's locks were hidden under a dark hairnet as she stood, showing off her tattoos, in her practically non-existent ensemble.
Her pert derriere was hard to miss in her ripped bottoms, while her team helped her with her mic.
She excitably tweeted prior to the event: 'I am playing Madison Square Garden tonight! It's my hometown arena, and I couldn't feel more grateful and proud to be back! I love NY'.
Before adding: 'Just a hometown girl livin' the dream. I belong to u NY. #SoldOut'.(Sic)

She gamely signed autographs and posed with excited fans, most of whom seemed to be male.

And last week she appeared to be calling out her rival over certain similarities between Perry's stage show and her own, writing on Twitter: 'Looks like green hair and mechanical horses are the thing now,' before adding a pair of emjoi eyes for good measure.
However, Katy appears to have had enough and on May 7 as she kicked off her tour in Northern Ireland, fans were treated to a video montage of her sticking her finger in her mouth and spitting up blue and green paint, in what could be perceived as a mocking nod to Gaga's infamous vomiting performance at SXSW.
