Stories of warriors, wizards and monsters tend to be thought of as kids' stuff - but this isn't always the case. The deluge of sword and sorcery movies which popped up in the early 1980s are often jaw-dropping for the level of sex and violence on show, and the Roger Corman-produced Deathstalker is a fine example of this.
For evidence, we need look no further than Lana Clarkson's character Kiara. Initially presented as a mysterious cloaked swordsman who invades the titular warrior Deathstalker's camp, it is very quickly revealed she is in fact a woman - thanks to the fact that wears nothing under that cloak but a thong. And, while occasionally she dons pasties for modesty, that's the same look she boasts the whole movie.
Clarkson became quite the icon of 80s sword and sorcery, taking the lead in the similarly clothes-light Barbarian Queen and its sequel. Her story met a tragic end when she was shot dead by music producer Phil Spector in 2003.

The actress stripped down to an oversized hat and a diamond studded chain bracelet as she posed poolside.

The 56-year-old last posed in the nip 30 years ago when she was heavily pregnant with her second child.
Ahead of her tell all book, Inside Out, she was photographed by Mariano Vivanco for Harper's Bazaar.
For the October 2019 cover she donned a pink Lynn Paid hat and a Van Cleef & Arpels diamond bracelet. Her long black hair is worn down in soft curls.
The last time she posed nude was for the 1991 Vanity Fair cover, although she admitted: 'Thank goodness people remember the photo, they don’t remember the article.'
However, it's her new book that comes out later this month that has got everyone talking.
She has promised to open up about her 40-year career, her marriages and her issues with addiction.
'Inside Out is a story of survival, success, and surrender—as well as resilience,' the press statement for the book said.

She even opened about her shocking marriage to Ashton Kutcher, saying in the book: 'It was a do-over, like I could just go back in time and experience what it was like to be young, with him — much more so than I'd ever been able to experience it when I was actually in my twenties.'
She also speaks about her three daughters with her first husband, Bruce Willis - Rumer Willis, 31, Scout Willis, 28, and Tallulah Willis, 25.
'My daughters offered me an opportunity to start to change the generational pattern,' she told the magazine, 'To be able to break the cycles.'

In the spirit of being a free woman, Britney Spears has shared full-frontal naked mirror selfies with her 38 million Instagram followers.
Spears captioned the two photos of her in nothing but knee-high white socks and a lace choker: “Free woman energy has never felt better”.
The strategic placement of two emojis allowed her to bypass the platform’s no nudity rule, and the post was one of four posts by the singer in the last 24 hours that have had comments turned off.
Spears’ long-running conservatorship finally came to end after more than 13 years in November last year.
Spears celebrated the news on Instagram, saying it was the “best day ever” and expressing her love for fans behind the Free Britney movement.
“Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy️! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day! Best day ever. Praise the Lord. Can I get an Amen?” she wrote.
The conservatorship had been in place since 2008 with Spears’ dad Jamie Spears at its core until late September.
During a blistering 24-minute testimony in June, Spears called her dad an “abusive” conservator and accused him of forcing her to go on tour in 2018 and sending her to a mental health facility against her will in 2019.
The naked pictures on Thursday were not the first shared by Spears on the platform.
Following the win against her father in late September, she shared a series of images posing naked (again, with emojis) while on holiday with fiance Sam Ashgari on October 1.
“Playing in the Pacific never hurt anybody,” she wrote.
On October 15, Spears posted a topless photo, with her hands covering her breasts, with a message that appeared to be about cosmetic surgery and body image.
“What is it with consultations for body improvements???? Is it me or anybody else offended by these experiences … maybe I’m extremely sensitive … either way I would rather fall off a cliff than have a doctor tell me what he thinks is wrong with my body image … lesson learned. Psss kiss my white ass,” she wrote.
