A sadomasochist electric shocked a woman through her vagina while she was strapped to a restraint board, a court has been told.
The petite 27-year-old victim was "tortured" with a home-made "shocker", sending 240 through her body, Cambridge Crown Court heard.
The woman told the court she went along with the wishes of Keiren Batten, 43, of Hitchin, after he told her she was boring in bed.
She said the kinky sex started out "like Fifty Shades of Grey " but she became "uncomfortable" after it went further.
The jury of seven women and five men was told by prosecutor Simon Wilshire that the controlling and dominant Batten was "obsessed with sadomasochistic sexual practices".
"He used her to satisfy his physical, dangerous sexual desires re bondage, sadism and restraint," he said.
In his defence, Batten claims that the woman never went on the board at all and that she agreed to the kinky sex.
He says he was the one on the board and the clips were attached to him, not her.
Batten introduced a home-made electrical shocking device into their sex life it is claimed.
She consented the first time it was attached to pins in her nipples not knowing what the pain would be like.
But the prosecutor said that when she realised what it was like she told him it was a step too far and she never wanted to do it again.
However, Mr Wilshire said that on a later occasion she allowed Batten to attach it to her labia after he said he would not switch on the electricity and she made it clear he must not.
But it is alleged he then went back on his word and turned on the current.
In her video-taped police interview, the young woman explained how their kinky sex began.
She said: "It started with dressing gown cords and my arms tied to the end of the bed, like Fifty Shades of Grey but then it got further and further and I felt really uncomfortable but I just took it because he said I was boring."
"I have never done that with anyone. He didn't do it out of nastiness but it would progress.
"He would bring like camping rope, proper thick rope.
"Then he brought the board and told me what it was for. I thought he was having a laugh but no, he was pretty serious.
"The first few times he put me on it, it was not horrible at all. I felt brave enough to go on it. Like whipping, to give pleasure, not pain."
The woman said the wooden bondage board was about six foot long.
"I would be strapped down, arms tied to screws in the board and there are silver metal chains which cut into your wrists. And you would be tied around the waist."
The jury heard that Batten, of Hitchin, sometimes whipped her "black and blue.
"He had paddle whips and implements with metal spikes which left "pinprick holes all over me".
The alleged incident in 2014 which led to the charge of sexual assault relating to electrocution of her genitals began when Batten brought what he called a 'shocker'.
The witness said: "It's basically a plug with a lamp lead. It goes into the mains and the wires are split off with crocodile clips.
"The first time it was on the breasts. I was face down on the board. It bruised my hips where I jumped and slammed down on the board."
She described feeling scared about what he was going to do while she was tied down. "He electrocuted me on my vagina the last time. He put the crocodile clips inside, attached to my labia, and shocked me.
"He turned it on and I just caught my breath because you think you are going to die. I have never experienced anything so hideous in my life.
"I never went on the board again. After that 'I was rubbish in bed' and 'everybody else was better', 'I was just a prude'."
The witness said: "He calls it a torture and it is torture really. As I got a bit braver I said no and that's when he got bored and went elsewhere."
She described Batten as someone who "cheated countless times".
Batten denies sexual assault and two offences of common assault involving an alleged head butt and a push during arguments.
The woman went to the police to complain he was harassing her after she stopped seeing him and the alleged sexual assault emerged during interview.

We all have keepsakes we treasure to remember special moments in our lives, from teddies to train tickets.
For Tracy Kiss, her labiaplasty surgery 10 months ago marked the end of a life of 'long-term suffering'.
And so, wanting to have something to remind her of this momentous occasion in her life, she asked her surgeon if she would be allowed to keep her severed labia minora or 'inner lips'.
The 29-year-old, from Buckinghamshire, likens it to keeping her children's milk teeth, locks of hair, their first babygros - and her silicone breast implants.
Tracy, a former glamour model and single mum-of-two, has suffered with pain and tenderness her whole life from her protruding labia - but she didn't realise anything was wrong because "nobody talks about it".
"As a result I’d missed out on so many hobbies and interests that I love and had to be mindful with tight clothing, exercise and intercourse because of the discomfort it caused simply because I didn’t know anything could be done about it – I thought all women were just as tender as I," she writes in her blog .
After realising something could be done Tracy turned to surgery in December 2016, had her labia removed and changed her whole life.

"I know that keeping body parts may not be to everybody’s taste," Tracy explains.
"However my collection began when having children and finding my feet as a tooth fairy which led to me also keeping my silicone breast implants after an emergency breast reconstruction five years ago."
For a while, Tracy kept her labia "floating in a jar" on her kitchen dresser, but they didn't 'keep' as well as she had hoped.
"However with time the cut off tissue has discoloured from pink to a pale grey, crinkled up in the surgical fluid and turned curly which has made them less of a trophy and more of a Halloween accessory so I’ve been looking into ways to more effectively preserve them longterm."
Tracy started making crystal jewellery with her nine-year-old daughter, learning how to set resin effectively and practising by creating glittery necklace pendants and jewels.
Once she had perfected her craft, Tracy set about 'drying out' her labia on a makeshift washing line using Christmas card pegs, an ice cream box and cotton string - as she shows in her video .
She applied several coats of textured, pearl-finish paint - red, to match her bold nails and lipstick - dried them with a hairdryer and then dusted them off with glitter.
Tracy then set the labia into resin using an oval-shaped mould and, voila, she had a necklace pendant ready.
The model and blogger shared her story to raise awareness about circumcision, in the hope that no other women suffer for so long the way she did.
She wrote: "My labia have been successfully preserved, are colourful, bright and cheerful and mark the end of my suffering; one step closer to breaking down the taboo of female circumcision through a unique talking point and bespoke jewellery that I will cherish forever."
