Welcoming staff, good service, only the dishes came too late (some dishes more than 90 min after order). Seafood and fishes were not top fresh. Too little seafood in pasta, chicken skewer was bad. It may be because it was in the Aid week.
We went there on Sunday for a very late lunch and they accepted us without reservation and with a nice smile. The menu was rich and even huge; we couldn't finish all!
We were two; had the "Marmite" of fish (mixture of seafood in a... red sauce) and the "Loup grillé" (grilled sea bass) with its fried potatoes, "Tastira" (Tunisian famous food which comes a long with fish) and the famous red pasta with the head of your fish! Amazing!!! fantastic! At the end, we offered us the "Sorbet au citron" as a "cadeau de la maison"!
The two dishes with a beer, bottle of water, coffee, tea costed 112 TND. Fair no?

The service is great by very friendly staff, and the quality of food is outstanding. Wine and beer are available and the prices are less than other touristic restaurants.
I live much of the year in Tunisia and finding fresh fish is easy. In fact, I can think of few countries that have the abundance in variety of daily caught, fresh fish. As good as this is, there are few restaurants in Tunisia who... prepare fish creatively. It is usually grilled, sauteed or baked, with little else done to it. Few additions are made to the fish in terms of spices, marinades, or anything approaching creativity. So, in the end, while finding and enjoying fresh fish is easy to do in Tunisia, it all begins to taste the same. The exception is Le Petit Etoile. I first went in mid-winter with a party of 16, where the host chose the location. The service was a far step above what one normally experiences in Tunisian restaurants and the variety of how you can have your seafood prepared was the biggest surprise. Creativity and diversity was the rule and everyone one of us were talking about this fact. Wine and beer are available.
I returned in March 2015 with yet another group of around six people. The same high level experience in service and creativity was again, a winner! In neither case is this easy to do with 10 or 16 people, but everything was outstanding. On the water, which means in warm weather , you can dine outside. After many, many years of eating fish in Tunisia, this restaurant is a cut above them all...hands down! Keep it up Le Petit Etoile, as I am returning soon. More
We followed your readers' advice and found La Petite Etolie. It wasn't so difficult to find. Go to the Port of Tunis and basically turn left toward the sea. The restaurant has a beautiful garden, wonderful food and wine and a great view of fishing... boats and the port. Far superior in terms of food and ambiance to the string of restaurants along the main street of La Gollette, We had a wonderful waiter who fileted our fresh fresh sole at the table and, when a cloud burst hit even went to find us a taxi. We also had fresh tuna on a salata mechouia. Grilled seiche and fresh dates for desert. Highly recommended. More
Locketed in the Port with the vuew on the fishing port. about 1 km from the main restaurant street in La Goulette. VEry good sea-food, very nice service plus good local wines. The only cons is that noone there can speak English and that it... is a bit hard to find.
