The LG Twins have re-signed foreign slugger Austin Dean (30), a key player in their unified championship.

"We have agreed to a contract with Austin for the 2024 season for a total of $1.3 million (approximately KRW 1.68 billion)," the LG Twins said on Sunday. The contract includes a $300,000 signing bonus, $800,000 in salary, and $200,000 in incentives.

In 139 games with the LG this year, Austin batted .313 with 163 hits, 23 home runs, 95 RBIs, and an OPS of .893. What's more, he was a workhorse at the plate, hitting a league-high 15 home runs.

In the Korean Series, he batted .350 with one home run, five RBIs and a .931 OPS in five games to help the team win its first pennant in 29 years.

Through the organization, Austin said, "I would like to thank the organization again for giving me the opportunity to come back. The support I received from LG fans this season was the best I've ever experienced, and I'm looking forward to playing in front of them again next year."

LG President Cha Myung-seok said, "Austin has clearly demonstrated his role in helping LG win the overall title in 2023 and is an integral part of our team. He is not only a great player, but also a great person. With his experience and adaptation to the KBO, we expect him to continue to perform well next year." 토토사이트
