# WisprPad Privacy Policy

WisprPad ("the App", "we") does **not** collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. All processing happens locally on your devices.

## What the App accesses

- **Microphone (iPhone)**: When you hold the mic button, the App captures audio and streams it over your local Wi-Fi network to the WisprPad Mac companion app. No audio is sent to any third-party server.

- **Local Network (iPhone & Mac)**: Required to discover the paired Mac (via Apple Bonjour) and exchange trackpad events, audio frames, and recognized text. Communication is encrypted end-to-end by Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework.

- **Accessibility (Mac, granted by user)**: Required to inject keyboard / mouse events into other Mac apps and to type recognized text into the focused text field.

- **Speech Recognition (Mac, granted by user)**: Required for Apple's on-device Speech framework to transcribe audio into text.

## What we never do

- We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data — not your audio, not your text, not your contacts, not your identifiers, not your usage analytics.

- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or any tracking frameworks.

- We do not require an account. There is nothing to sign up for.

- We do not access your photos, contacts, calendar, location, or any other private data.

## Speech recognition details

Speech is transcribed by Apple's on-device Speech framework on your Mac. With macOS Dictation's **Enhanced Dictation** enabled (System Settings → Keyboard → Dictation), recognition runs entirely offline — no audio leaves your Mac. Without Enhanced Dictation, macOS may send short audio snippets to Apple per its system-level privacy policy; this behavior is controlled by your macOS settings, not by WisprPad.

## Network behavior

Audio frames, trackpad events, and recognized text travel directly between your iPhone and your Mac over the same local Wi-Fi network. They do **not** traverse any cloud service. If the two devices fall off the same network, the connection drops and nothing is sent.

## Children

The App is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, children included.

## Changes

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Any change will be reflected at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date.
