Genshin finally releasing an Electro tall man, and he's even off-field though for only 9 seconds? That said, I can still have hope. The only new 5 star in 5. And since Ororon's kit incentivizes electro-charged, there's been speculation that the other reruns might be hydros. There are three whole hydro men, so there's a chance Anyway, as long as he's on a male banner, I will take it. Childe or Neuvillette would be absolutely ideal. Childe is marginally preferable because then I can clear the guarantee on my main too, and Childe cons since hitting another 5 star past the guarantee is sadly plausible are slightly preferred to Neuvillette C3, just because I don't want to take anyone past C2. It will annoy me. After that, the best options would be Alhaitham major stonks increase with electro option , then Wriothesley and Itto for But all three are very much long shots. Wriothesley is overdue for his first rerun, but there's no reason to expect him for the moment, while the other two are in danger of getting Chronicled. So the most realistic third best option is Ayato. His early cons are very meh, but I'm okay with getting them, especially since I've enjoyed using him. Then, Zhongli also meh cons and I guess Baizhu C3 would annoy me. And then the final 'marginally better than all other alternatives' option would be I accepted Qiqi, so I guess I'd take her on similar logic, though I wouldn't be happy about it. Still better than women and teen boys tho. I'm currently on the two week wait for Stellar Reunion on both accounts, but once I log back into my alt, I'll start prefarming for Ororon. He'll need talent books and boss mats, first of all. Then there's the question of his weapon and artifacts. For the weapon, I'll probably put him on Sac bow. The ER is important and proc'ing skill twice isn't bad, probably. If I get him, I might consider pulling Elegy whenever Venti returns. For the artifacts, it will depend on what the theorycrafters say. I could put Thoma's Gilded on him as a temporary measure, but I kinda There's a reasonable chance that Ifa might want this set, but we won't know his kit for ages. I'll probably farm out a barebones Cinder set for now Things are much more relaxed on my main. She has a surprisingly cutesy face. Does this mean that if Lee Geon got genderswapped for some reason, he'd be a surprisingly petite and cute woman? One of those flashes is from Yooha pov in DC. The way the translation renders her thought bubbles before and after makes no reference to 'Kalli' at all, but it might be the case that there was some confusion about pronoun genders in there. Anyway, curious what was going on there. The timeline after Blood Fog was that Hugo had time to investigate and find Libra's involvement, stormed in to confront her, and then she went to the hospital to screw with Yooha. That makes it seem like at least some time passed after the whole incident, but the kids were still sleeping over at the hospital. Was it that they refused to leave their mom, or was Hugo hoping that Scorpio's protections on the hospital would be safer for them? Speaking of that flashback, Giselle has a couple panels where she imagines Hugo as her follower, complete with a fancy military uniform, which The most he manages is an extremely basic suit for public appearances, and the rest of the time he either dresses in very plain combat clothing or in super casual jeans and t-shirts. In fact, if you imagine that Lee Geon never bothered buying himself new clothes, then he's just been wearing stuff Hugo gave him. The only thing to suggest they're not sharing clothes is that Lee Geon wears shorts a couple times and Hugo never does. I still remember them sharing that teddy bear apron lol. Giselle suggests that Hugo refusing to join her comes down to him still holding a torch for Lee Geon, which seems to be the general impression everyone has. Yeah, when Lee Geon is around, Hugo basically follows his orders, but he's not his subordinate in any official capacity, and when Lee Geon isn't around, Hugo makes his own choices in a completely normal way. Like, I would assume he just has very understandable ideological objections to the other Saints, or even just assume pride. So did Hugo do something that made everyone think of him as Lee Geon's slave loyal subordinate, or are they all just terminally Geon-brained and projecting? Giselle wants Hugo. Steven wants Hugo. I don't recall now whether Kevin tried to recruit Hugo, but at minimum he is very tsuntsun toward him but then coordinates with him very smoothly. And in the novel, Sophie is apparently quite taken with him. So at this point I feel like the Saints can be split into two categories: the ones that want to fuck Lee Geon and the ones that want to steal his man. And Aries, I guess. Some want both. You might say 'what about Ivan' but let me tell you, he is suspiciously fixated on Hugo, who even get a special pet name. Villain wishing for a hatefuck behavior. Aside from making a spear for Yooha and screwing up Hugo's bow, Lee Geon also says he's planning to make something for Sungjae and Jiwoo. Very curious. Steven had to keep suppressing the evil god in Yooha's arms, so he's been her guardian for ten years. It's also mentioned with no details that Oliver killed the previous cadre captain, whom Yooha calls 'teacher. Listen, Steven is a funny side character, I appreciate that he has a fair share of reactions to things, and even gets moments like tackling Yooha out of the way or stepping in to take a blow for her, since he's raised her for so long. I am curious how to interpret some of the divine gods siding with Lee Geon. Steven says that Leo is 'sleeping' with no explanation, but Virgo is shown as actively endorsing all this. Scorpio is initially said to be backing Libra but then Hayley switches it to Lee Geon, so it's like There's also other spoiler tm questions that I am very curious about. The manhwa repeats the '30 years since invasion' number, putting the current year as or , which is different from the novel's 25 years. I guess this is probably to avoid having the story be set in almost modern day? They might have wanted to maintain the 'near future' date, but I'm not really sure why. The divergence point is way in the past anyway. Yooha is 'vice celestial lord' but also only S rank, compared to Oliver being SS and divine cadre captain. From what I recall, you can have more than one cadre captain. We see a couple in Gemini, though it might be because they are in charge of different geographic areas? Let me just say, 'Baron Helmet' is a stupid name. He's probably not very strong, and the actual issue is that he has some power given to him by their 'lord. This time, super regeneration doesn't work in order to up the stakes, but the reason should be that his power was being drained out by contact with the monarch's power. He directly compares it to the cursed dagger he got stabbed with at the Demon Tower. Speaking of which, the Demon Tower is apparently quite strategically important, as the unknown civilization wants to rebuild it. Chapter 92 ends on a cliffhanger about the penalty time for Lee Geon being resurrected after the Tower ending. The initial time given was hours, which is 43 days. So it's been 43 days since he returned. The novel says that was in August, so it is now October. Additionally, the chapter 74 cliffhanger before the hiatus said there was 65 hours until the invasion, so there was less than three days Yooha declared she'd be leaving Leo and Lee Geon sent Taekwoo's head to Libra. There was probably a few days between that and Lee Geon's big declaration against Libra. There's a lot that happened. As always, the pace is breakneck, haha. Anyway, there's a few points I wanted to note. First, I appreciate the respect for just punching someone in the face. Here, in chapter 85, Hugo punches it out with Taurus and it's great. And then, Libra also eventually resorts to just directly punching Lee Geon, which is hilarious. Speaking of Libra, she's done a bang up job as a villain. Very funny that she stripped at the end to the same level as Lee Geon. Even her top! In general, I feel like The guys always lose their shirts, sure, but they also lose everything below the knee too, only keeping their hulk modesty shorts. But you also get Yooha losing her boots, while her jeans are otherwise fine, so it feels like they just really wanted to get her barefoot lol Speaking of Yooha, I wonder if they're going to circle back to the evil god in her arms, or if this is it and it'll be considered that she's gotten control of it. Speaking of Hugo, the first couple chapters after the manhwa restarted were quite rough, since it was more flashbacks of Suffering tm. Hugo really lives a different genre than everyone else sometimes, rip. I do like how he goes wild against Taurus. He and Lee Geon are very similar sometimes. They can have a similar mean sense of humor, and occasionally Hugo enjoys battle in a similar way. There were also some moments for Yooha, Steven, Kevin Though of course, Lee Geon is the only useful one, haha. That said, the big ending for the Libra arc felt pretty cohesive. I can't really complain about the direction. There are several interesting points that were elucidated. First, Lee Geon's moral compass is sometimes a bit hard to pin down, but he pretty directly states what he is opposed to: disregarding 'the safety of others. In my fanfic concept development, this would mean But for additional consideration, Lee Geon is not at all shy about going to down on anyone who crosses him and directly threatens murder in the novel. So you could say him losing it would come from the direction of starting to see innocent people as having wronged him. Second, there's an interesting Steven says that he is willing to sacrifice 'everything Leo has accumulated' because otherwise humanity will lose 'everything they've accumulated' in bold text. At the same time, Libra tries to claim that this world belongs to the divine gods, while 'Baron Helmet' said the same for the unknown civilization when they invaded. There's this concept of accumulating resources or taking them by force. Third, they also bring up several times that 'the weak don't even get the right to choose' and 'only the strong get to ask questions,' which Yooha does angle Leo's ideal of the strong survive as 'the strong have a duty to protect the weak,' and in a sense, all the weak people 'choose' Lee Geon, which you can interpret as flashback Steven being wrong. But still All they can do is choose who to pray to, but this assumes that there is a good choice to begin with. It's all a kind of concept that I don't really like, though I won't say that it's incoherent or anything. Anyway, all that said, the last chapter for now is really something. Ah, Lee Geon making that face, damn We finally see him get a bit stripped down emotionally. Yes, give me that backstory to add to my Lee Geon microwave spinning. Feeling a bit frustrated because I'm about 10K into the next oneshot, but now I'm just not feeling it. There's like one scene left, but I don't think it'll bring things together the way I hoped for. At this point, it doesn't feel like I'll be satisfied posting it, and I'd still have to write that scene and then edit the whole thing I think I might take at least a few days off from writing anything while I figure out what to do next. Do you mind if I make fic inspired by your fic? If you mind, I only sent the finished fic to your inbox if you want. Your gacha fic is so enjoyable that I make afternath of that my creation, a bit short one. Turnaround time is about 1 week, depending on complexity. And I will start working on them in October. If you love my style and trust my skills, this is a great chance to get a commission! These slots will help me decide whether to offer portraits regularly. Feel free to fill out this form if you're interested! Obviously, got Xiangli Yao for free. He uses Scar. So I can't really do much with his talents. I also do not have enough of the gauntlet mats, so I'll be in that domain for a good while after this. After that, I decided to be a little silly on his banner. This got me Verina S2 at 72 pulls, and then Yuanwu S4 in the next 10 pull. I wanted that one because it's the one where he gives a small shield when casting his ult. It's not much, and wuwa shields are kinda meh at best, but it's better than nothing. Verina S2 is also good, since it increases her Concerto generation by a bit. This week, I also got Static Mist the standard banner gun at It was quite a surprise, but a really nice one. So my farming goals for the remainder of this patch will be: gauntlet mats for XLY talents, Scar mats for same, a few more runs of Inferno Rider to finish ascending Mortefi, and probably just a very long time with the gauntlet and pistol domains for Mortefi and Yuanwu talents and weapons. We have two more events this patch, the current Echoids one and an Alloy Smelt rerun, plus my half-baked runs of the Tower, which I'm hoping will give me enough exp mats for everything, so I don't have to do simulation training. But aside from that, things are winding down for this patch. Next patch, the character banners are probably a skip, especially since I'm on a guarantee now, but I'm going to go for Shorekeeper's weapon, probably for Baizhi but maybe for Verina, we'll see. Linking this for the instructions on indoor sinking and floating. I've been seeing a lot of builds that create an indoor 'deck' by sinking large furnishings, and I've been wondering about it. OK, caught up on everything in Wuwa, in preparation for getting Xiangli Yao and pulling his weapon tomorrow. I skipped pretty much the entirety of the new exploration quest because I just did not care to read a bunch of text about an AI and some presumably dead off screen NPCs. Hope it doesn't matter too much lol. So that mostly leaves just Zhezhi's companion quest, since I already talked about the Moon Tree festival. Her companion quest is very so-so. At the core, it is hampered by being a quest that spends most of its time on investigating a very simple case, centered on an NPC who is barely present in the story and has a somewhat unclear connection to Zhezhi herself, and this all exists to lead into Zhezhi monologuing out her backstory in the final act. That's a lot of things hampering it from the start, and the quest also kinda I get the feeling that they came up with the framing device of the trial? When we got to it, my reaction wasn't 'Oh! She's doing it! I honestly couldn't tell you why her actions were necessary for this trial? It feels very much like a scene that existed because Zhezhi needed to monologue and show off, rather than because it logically made sense. Adding onto the weak points is that it ends on a dating note, where Zhezhi makes the whole thing about Rover, and I can't even tell you how they met, since it was so irrelevant and lacking in impact. However, I wouldn't necessarily consider this companion quest a failure because I did come away from it with a positive opinion of Zhezhi. Her design is cute, she has a lot of charming animations like pushing up her glasses and some surprising expressions like when she thinks about how she'll wow Rover with her deduction skills , plus her JP voice actress did a great job of sometimes switching to a different tone while still making it sound like the same character. The quest also does center Zhezhi in a sense and conveys her character and backstory. I would put it above Linyin's because she drove me crazy and Jiyan's because it was so pointless. Probably controversial, but I'd put it in roughly the same tier as Lingyang's. They actually have some structural similarities. Zhezhi's has far, far better presentation, like the visuals, the animations, just the kinds of scenes they have and the things you end up doing, but I would say Lingyang holds together better as a standalone story. The NPC siblings have a complete storyline with a better emotional throughline, and Lingyang talking about his identity at the end feels more meaningful than Zhezhi's backstory exposition. Not that either is great, mind you. Also, Lingyang's fits the setting better. Zhezhi is so aggressively a civilian, who lives a life barely connected to everything else in the story, that it almost makes her quest feel weirdly detached from the rest of the game. Because of all this, I'd put Changli's quest as a bit higher, since it's more consistent across the board. And the best would be the festival event, which is basically Xiangli Yao's companion quest. But it's still an event, so I'm not sure if you can compare them directly. Because I've seen a lot of people going 'who? I understand xiangli yao. You know how Jiyan feels about retroact rain phantoms -he hates them- but the way he lets Geshu Lin talk on and on and he even sees his sword. I'm probably just going to abandon it, but it really kills my momentum. Big day for Wuwa, hahah. Also obtained his weapon at 68 pulls I was already at 50 pity though. Keep reading.
