Kwanso, Hymenocarpis , Daylily or Yabukanzou (scientific name: Hemerocallis fulva 'kwanso') is native to China and is a perennial of the family Hemerocallidaceae. It is considered to be a variant of Hemerocallis fulva (Sinakanzou, scientific name: Hemerocallis fulva var. Fulva). Flowers will bloom all day in brightly orange and double double flowers. Since the flowers end in a day, English names are called Daylily (Daily). Those that sunbathed the bud with hot water and has a sun-dried sun has the diuretic effect as a crude drug "ginsengi (kinshin)". Buds and leaves can eat raw. Seeds can not be made because of triploids. There are Nikkokisuge, Nokanzou, and Yabukanzou in a group of the Hemerocallis genus. Yabukanzou blooms the orange flowers of the double flowers upward. Nokanzou blooms a single red vermillion flower upward. Flower is bigger than Nokanzou, and the leaf width is about 2 times. Nokanzou's flower cane is long. Nikko Kisuge blooms a single yellow flower horizontally. Licorice used in Chinese medicine (reading is also licorice) is a plant of another family (legume family).
Common name: Hymenocarpis , Daylily or Yabukanzou, Scientific name: Hemerocallis fulva var. Kwanso, aka: Wasuregusa, Daylilly , Leaf shape: sword-shaped, flower color: orange, flower size: 7 to 8 (leaf shape: flower diameter: 7 to 8 cm, length of leaves: 100 to 150 cm, leaf height: 50 to 80 cm, leaf width: cm, flowering period: July - August, flower blooming way: double.
