The book “Self-Actualization: A Theory Of Human Motivation” by Abraham Maslow is a classic in the field of human motivation and personality psychology. It was published in 1954 by Harvard University Press. Maslow’s book has been translated into English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, and Portuguese. In the book Maslow discusses the concept of self-actualization in a way that he believes can be applied to all individuals.

Abstract
In this paper I will discuss the work of the American psychologist Abraham Maslow and its impact on the concept of self-actualization. I will also discuss some of Maslow’s other work, which has given rise to the idea of “motivation and personality”.
Introduction
I have chosen to write about Abraham Maslow because he is one of my favorite psychologists. He was born on November 28, 1908, in St. Louis, Missouri.
The book has been prepared particularly for the students and teachers of psychology and sociology. It contains a brief description of the personality and its development, the concept of self-actualization of the person, its relation to the theory of motivation. The basic concepts are presented in brief form, the most important methods of research are discussed. In the book is described the methods of assessment of personality.

А. Маслоу родился на Среднем Западе США в 1914 году. Его родители были выходцами из Польши, и он стал первым ребенком в семье, в которой было уже трое детей. В детстве он рос болезненным и часто болел, но родители не беспокоились об этом, так как считали, что у их сына есть врожденное стремление к здоровью, которое он непременно реализует в себе, когда выздоровеет.
