19. yüzyılın sonu ve 20. yüzyılın başında Rusya'yı ele geçiren son Rus klasiklerinden biri olan, Tolstoy ve Çehov geleneklerinin varisi olan Alexander Ivanovich Kuprin, edebiyat tarihine Yurtdışı Rus'un seçkin bir yazarı olarak girdi. Kuprin'in göçmen yaratıcılığının zirvesi, bu koleksiyona dahil edilen "Zhaneta" romanıydı. "Zhaneta" 1932–1933'te yayınlandı. Paris dergisi "Modern Notes"ta. Bu, kaderin iradesiyle Paris'e atılan yalnız bir Rus profesör ile bir sokak gazetesi satıcısının kızı olan Fransız bir kızın dostluğunu anlatan dokunaklı bir hikaye. Ksenia Kuprina'ya göre "Zhaneta", Kuprin'in göçle ilgili ender eserlerinden biri ve "hikayenin kahramanı Profesör Simonov, birçok yönden Kuprin'in ta kendisi." Yayın, A. I. Kuprin'in 1917-1933'te yazdığı “Süleyman Yıldızı”, “Hayat Çarkı”, “Bir Keçinin Hayatı”, “Kader”, “Mavi Yıldız”, “ hikayeleri dahil diğer ünlü eserlerini içeriyor.
