Геологическая структура атолла довольно своеобразная. В отличие от большинства других атоллов цепочка коралловых рифов находится не внутри атолла, а тянется вдоль его края. Что касается островов, то наиболее знаменитым является Велавару. В этот период не очень жарко, да и осадки довольно редки. Атолл Даалу скрывает в своих зарослях массу загадок. На некоторых островах, большинство из которых сегодня необитаемы, сохранились индуистские и буддистские храмы, а также много других интересных следов пребывания здесь человека. Поэтому самой популярной считается экскурсия по необитаемым островам, где можно увидеть много интересного. Еще один секрет атолла Даалу — это редкие обитатели океана, которые встречаются только здесь. Речь о гигантских морских черепахах. Они очень большие, некоторые из них достигают веса в несколько сот килограммов. Чтобы увидеть подводную мини-лодку, достаточно погрузиться совсем недалеко от берега. Атолл Даалу находится на юге, примерно в километрах от столицы, города Мале. Добираются до атолла обычно на гидросамолете группой в несколько человек.
