Был тут на очередной экскурсии. Ездили в глубинку, смотрели на незатейливую жизнь простых доминиканцев, обедали на ранчо, купались под водопадами. Группа была интернациональная, основной костяк русские, причём одни женщины пенсионерки и по парочке немцев, американцев, итальянцев. После обеда, как заведено, местные начали предлагать купить сигары с домашней фабрики, кофе-какао со своих огородов. Иностранцы стали что-то покупать; наши же, услышав, что коробка сигар стоит 15 долларов, дали понять, что для них это немалые деньги и их это всё не интересует нисколечко. Мне стало жаль своих земляков и я стал объяснять, что для немцев-американцев 15 долларов - это всего-навсего час работы, поэтому они могут себе позволить такое. И рассказал, где в Хуан Долио они смогут приобрести ром, кофе, сигары и сувениры по не туристическим ценам. Женщины благодарили меня, а я решил написать небольшой пост с объяснением, где наш брат сможет в наших краях и подарков накупить и при этом не переплачивать. Вам повезло в том плане, что отель находится в самом посёлочке, в отличии от отелей Пунта Каны, где только до выхода из отеля надо топать, порой, несколько километров. Так что пользуйтесь возможностью побродить по местам, где живут местные. Вы не хотите дорого покупать ром и кофе в магазинах, куда вас привозят на экскурсиях - так вот в Хуан Долио у вас есть возможность купить это всё по народным ценам, в магазине, куда за покупками приходят даже самые бедные. И там не будет никакой наценки на ваш туристический статус! Прикладываю карту, чтобы вы могли сориентироваться. Ваш отель отмечен словом 'Start', а магазин под названием 'El Pueblo' обозначен словом 'Finish'. Вышли из отеля, выбрали любой из вариантов похода: либо по пляжу, либо по внутренней дорожке, либо по трассе - и через 15 минут неспешного шага вы у цели. Закупайтесь на здоровье! Та часть, куда вы направитесь, называется 'Старый Хуан Долио', а есть ещё 'Новый Хуан Долио', в правую сторону от вашего отеля , который выглядит достаточно симпатично и который вы тоже без проблем можете посетить. По дороге вы можете зайти в банк, в котором обменяете доллары по государственному курсу и тем самым хорошо сэкономите, потому что, расплачиваясь долларами в магазинах, вы теряете. Также вы можете дойти до магазина 'El Playero', в котором есть огромный выбор сувениров и, в силу того, что туристы там нечастые гости, у вас будет возможность хорошенько поторговаться. Все из вас хотят побывать на разных экскурсиях. Ваша принимающая сторона предлагает вам разные варианты, крутящиеся возле отеля 'продавцы экскурсий' тоже зазывают вас купить экскурсию у них. Но дело в том, что все они являются лишь посредниками. А я предлагаю вам, коль вы уже отправились на прогулку в Новый Хуан Долио, дойти до конечной точки маршрута на карте внизу она обозначена 'Faenza'. Это и есть та самая компания, которая организовывает экскурсии для вас, в которую вас 'продают' посредники, зарабатывая свои комиссионные. И которая приглашает меня на экскурсии для вас, в качестве переводчика. Так вот, даже если вы не владеете языками, вы смело заходите в этот офис и говорите три 'волшебных' слова: 'Николай, экскурсия, скидка'. Таким образом вы сможете приобрести экскурсии без всяких посредников, а напрямую у компании, которая вас на эту экскурсию и повезёт! Пусть вас не пугает кажущееся расстояние, это всего минут ходьбы.
