Excelente alojamiento, el cielo en la tierra, una experiencia inolvidable, un remanso de paz y tranquilidad pero que tiene su toque de aventura, un lugar que vale la pena disfrutar. As before, great place, excellent communication, and a wonderful view. This place is absolutely stunning. It is so far off the beaten path! We loved pushing the limits of our 4x4 up the mountain roads. There literally are no neighbors in sight! Even on a local holiday weekend it was quiet and tranquil. The outdoor space is what makes this home so special. Bring coals and lighter fluid and enjoy the outdoor BBQ. I recommend pre-cooking all of your food. The house runs on solar energy, which is very cool. Bring a headlamp and a camping lantern. Everything else you need is there - a cold fridge and a warm shower with great water pressure. Fun to drive up into the Valle Nueve Parque 45 minutes or towards Jarabacoa 45 minutes. Our stay was amazing, perfect little cozy villa for two, everything you need; very remote! View and anytime of the day is spectacular. Defenitly will visit again. Great location, very private, and remoto location to enjoy nature and views. Although is a very basic cabin, it has everything needed and the full support of the host and service people. My family really relaxed and learn a lot about the surroundings and local community as well. I woke up each morning and concluded each day in awe of how close we were to such beautiful mountain terrain, misty clouds, sunrises and sunsets. He was very accommodating and friendly. The groundskeeper, Augustine was available if we needed anything and he was very kind and helpful. The home is powered through solar energy which I think is a valuable set-up. Be prepared to possibly take bucket baths if the water pressure is not strong enough. I personally enjoy the the bucket baths as it wastes less water anyway and you can take your time. Getting to the home itself may take some pre-planning. I took a gua-gua public bus in from Santo Domingo and Omar arranged a taxi driver to pick us up pesos and drove us up the mountain about 15 minutes from the town center. I rode a motorcycle taxi back down the mountain upon check out I paid pesos. Make sure to stock up on groceries before you check into the home. Thank you for a magnificent stay, Omar! Jacques is a great guide and will take you to some great, secluded waterfalls that are perfect for swimming. Neal is a great host and provides you full access to his deck, wood-burning bbq, and extensive gardens. One note to guests, note that there is not wifi at this location. If you do not have a cell package, be prepared to disconnect for a few days. We highly recommend this place. They were very friendly and accommodating as we brought an extra air mattress. We were able to use the kitchen to make breakfast and park our car in the gate. The riverfront cabin is set on a beautiful section of the river, with big windows to enjoy the view from inside, or walk down the steps and sit riverside with your toes in the cool water. La zona es segura. It is truly gorgeous, especially sunrise ask for a room facing town. The road is paved the whole way, but steep. We made it up in a 2wd Kia rental car with no problem. It is quite secluded, so expect to do the drive multiple times to get to town. Our host, Melissa, was very sweet. We did, however, have issues with some basic needs. We kept having to ask for basic things toilet paper, how to leave at night , which were resolved quickly. And our room never got hot water. First, the kitchen was very limited in what was there for cooking but Onomi was great at sharing if I needed something specific, like a bigger pot. Second, the gardens are lovely but require Onomi to enter the house daily to water the plants. It added some stress to my mornings when I was never sure she would be there when I was waking up. My work in Barahona has me working later into the night and hearing her in the house while I was still in bed was a bit uncomfortable.
