Christine "Chris" Anderson is one of the protagonists of Season 3.

Christine is cool, tenacious and impulsive. She is quite intelligent, but does not consider herself particularly academic, swapping degrees multiple times before dropping out, and stating she was "bad at college". Chris is casual, swears a lot, and is very witty, often immature in her sense of humour. She describes herself as a quick learner with a "flexible moral compass". Once the initial surprise of weirdness has worn off, Chris quickly falls into a comfortable "working with it" attitude, which lends to her adaptability, but is self-admittedly incredibly impulsive and may become destructive when frustrated.

She has a strong sense of loyalty and is very protective of the people she cares about, though doesn't always let them see the full extent of her concern or affection. She is more than willing to stand up for herself and the people she cares about, to the point of physical confrontation, and does not shy away from telling people outright exactly what she thinks.

She is also a decent actor, great at feigning confidence in the rare moments she doesn't have any.

Christine is, for the most part, not described in much detail. She is noted on multiple occasions to be attractive. In episode 27 she dyes her red as part of a ritual, which she considers to make her look "punk as fuck", and her hair colour is once again changed, this time to white, when she sells the colour in episode 28. She is likely in her early 20s.

She is physically stronger than Nicholas, and so is unlikely to be as scrawny as he is. Chris owns, and presumably usually uses, a messenger bag, and wears clothes with decently sized pockets.

Christine was born in New York and raised by her mom. She attended college for at least two years, where she spent two semesters on a pre-med track, and two semesters majoring in graphic design. She also audited a number of classes. Christine did not graduate. When she was 17, she attended a party where someone died of alcohol poisoning, which she feels responsible for due to her lack of own action. Prior to her father's death, she was dealing weed to college kids. She has experience with various drugs and some criminal history. Her previous few relationships have been "awful". She does not have friends she believes would miss her.

Christine did not have much of a relationship with her father, Michael Waters, and what relationship she did have was not positive. Christine's mom refused to talk about her father, and Chris herself had no contact from him until he called on her 18th birthday, asking if he could draw some of her blood. Christine did not receive any inheritance. While Christine attempted to attend her father's funeral, his lawyers actively denied her entry.

She and Nicholas end up visiting their father's house together, Nicholas inviting her where her father tried to shut her out. She initially suggests tearing the house down or selling it to "some douchy finance couple". Chris and Nicholas discover and listen to their father's tape together, and after experiencing a hint of The City through song, are drawn into the world of sorcery.

Nicholas and Christine spent little to no time together growing up, and start the series off still slightly awkward. Over the course of the season, they grow quite close. Chris is one of the few people Nicholas can trust and relax around, and even lets her get away with calling him Nick by the time they part. Due to their very different personalities, and as they have spent little time together previously, they often aren't on the same page and are still establishing boundaries during season 3.

Chris and Static Man get along very easily; they seem to get a good read on each other, share interests and are both a little immature and silly. Chris is outwardly very relaxed with him, and excited by his powers. While they don't get a lot of time to get to bond, they both come to trust the other person very quickly, and Chris feels uncertain about manipulating him. Chris quickly decides Static Man is the sort to smoke weed.

Michael is Christine's biological father, though she remembers little of him outside of "the vague outline of when [she] was little", and on her 18th birthday, when he called to ask if he could draw some of her blood. At Michael's request, Christine is barred from his funeral, and left out of his will, though she largely disregards this, and Nicholas brings her along to see (and possibly share) his inheritance anyway. Michael states his intention here was to avoid causing her harm, noting she was a lovely baby, though he isn't particularly phased when he thinks she's died.

Lou, hearing that Chris needs a lift to the Barren Isles, seeks her out and offers a place on his ship. She and Lou hit it off quite well, falling into an easy friendship very quickly. They are both quick to defend the other, Chris throwing herself into a duel without question just to protect Lou's honour, and work well as a team. Lou is comfortable admitting his mistakes to her, and eventually opens up enough to tell her is background. Chris herself is far more open with information anyway, though shows moments of emotional vulnerability she doesn't . Contrary to Nicholas, Lou starts out calling her Chris and eventually moves to calling her Christine. Lou eventually develops apparently romantic feelings for her, and while appeals to her to stay, also easily accepts she is not in a position to do so.
On parting, they both love each-other, Lou holding back from admitting it directly and Christine as per Payphone's bargain, though neither of them is ready to admit it to the other.

After Chris departs, Lou and the crew spend a lot of time looking for a way to get her back, and do eventually find it. Christine, apparently enamoured both by the lure of adventure and of a crew who loves and cares about her, returns to them, and Lou finally works up the courage to tell her he loves her outright. Slowly regaining her memories afterword, Chris describes him as "wonderful".

While Chris and Sonder spend a lot of time aboard The Irons together, especially as Chris works following Sonder's lead in the riggings initially, we don't hear a great deal of their interactions. Sonder is pleasant and encouraging to Chris from the moment they meet, seeming to trust her medical abilities, and happy to stick up for her and show her the ropes.

Teddy is initially unsure and dismissive of Chris, but after time together and a combination Chris' persistent bothering and patience helping both him and Sonder, he softens up to her.

Xkryxx is gentle and patient, offering wise words and advice to Chris while she is uncertain and learning. They get along well but Xkryxx manages to retain some minor air of mystery despite this.

Archive 81 is a horror podcast created by Daniel Powell and Marc Sollinger and starring Amelia Kidd. It uses the found footage technique and follows the story of Dan (voiced by Daniel Powell), an archivist tasked to restore the audio recordings of Melody Pendras during her stay at the Visser Apartment. [5] A television adaptation of the same name premiered on Netflix in January 2022.

The show follows the story of an audio archivist named Dan, who has recently been hired for a job that involves reviewing and cataloguing a set of old audio tapes. [4] The contract is for a group called the Housing Historical Committee of New York State and involves working at a remote and isolated bunker in the middle of the woods. [6] [7] Throughout his time on the job, Dan is contacted by his boss who insists that Dan must continuously record himself for archival and legal purposes. [7] The audio tapes that Dan is listening to are over two decades old and contain interviews conducted by someone named Melody Pendras. [3]

In the 1990s, Melody Pendras was doing interviews with residents of an old and mysterious Manhattan apartment building called the Eldritch Visser building. [8] [4] The interviews are with strange and eccentric residents of the building and often include references to a terrible and unnerving song that has affected the people living in the building. [3] Throughout the first season, Dan attempts to make sense of the tapes and becomes increasingly rattled by the unsettling interviews carried out by Pendras. [7] [1] Pendras has a female partner named Alexa who is briefly introduced, but otherwise the tapes consist only of her interviews with other residents. [8]

At the end of the first tape, Dan's best friend Mark reveals that he received these recordings from Dan in the mail and that Dan has been missing since January 2016. [3] Mark is trying to figure out what happened to Dan by slowly releasing the audio to the public as a series of podcast episodes. [9] [1]

The second season follows Dan as he explores a different world. [7]

The show contains a three-part miniseries called Left of the Dial , which began with an episode entitled "The Passenger". The miniseries follows the story of two characters named Nicholas and Static Man as they go on a road trip to a place called "the Blacktop". [10]

Daniel Powell began recording radio shows at a young age using the family computer and Windows 95. [11] Powell graduated from Darlington School and began his career in sound engineering. [12] Powell was working from home in isolation, rev
