Where is the best place to stay on the Amalfi coast? We plan to go to Pompeii, Capri, sight seeing. You just saved your first post. Bus will take you to the coast and other local areas. Personally practicality will win every time, when deciding where to stay, Salerno is not as pretty as its cousins along the coast but it more than makes up for it with a lot of other benefits over Sorrento, Amalfi and Positano. The ferry to Capri is an hour from there. Yes-Salerno is a travel hub but much further away from Capri and Sorrento. Positano is very beautiful and you can easily do a plethora of day trips from there by ferry, bus, or private car transfers. Sorrento is of course very geared up for the tourists but you can easily head out to quieter areas. The circumvesuviana train line is incredibly convenient for quick cheap travel. The property was well located near the town centre. It was clean and fresh with tasteful modern decor. The view from the balcony is great. Marianna gave us a warm welcome and provided us with lots of helpful information. She was a perfect host throughout our stay. We were able to leave our luggage on the day of our departure which allowed us to make the most of our last day in Sorrento, collecting it just before we left. Spectacular view and beautifully maintained room. Would recommended to anyone. My stay was wonderful! Incredible views, beautiful rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. The location is ideal. Right by the beach, the panoramic view point with amazing sunsets, very short walk to Pizzo Tasso, limoncello factory, Old Sorrento, shopping, cathedral. I would highly recommend! The breakfast brought to our room was lovely, and the added touch of bringing us some warm, fresh cake was appreciated. We liked the location, and the view was beautiful. We would definitely stay again. When we made our reservations several months ago, it was nice to get an email from Adriana welcoming us. Thank you! We knew there was no lift, but one is in the process of being installed. Staff was there to help us with luggage.
