Kota Kinabalu buying blow
One of the reasons why I was having second thoughts about going to Sabah was money. However, in the end I threw caution to the wind and went to have an awesome trip. Kota Kinabalu is pretty cheap compared to other Malaysian cities. Shopping in Kota Kinabalu is not too exciting, except if there are sales I suppose. Some of the items sold in Peninsular Malaysia is also available in Sabah, but there are also a number of brands and products that are locally produced like teas and cigarettes. Money changers do not accept dollars from earlier years, which is a real pain. Fortunately, someone saved me at the bus. Estan: Really? That blows. This is the first time this happened to me, and I was so relieved that I have my credit card on standby and that their machine accepted my card without problem! I want to go back to KK. And I will remember Lavender Lodge as well. Thanks Nina!! What kind of cars do they have over there, any big vans? How much would they cost, airport to hotel? Any and all comments, suggestions, recommendations by anybody will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Hi, My frnds and I will be going to Kota this coming Jan …I just want to know if nice ba yung mga tao dun? Went to KK last June with my friends and it was great. I was forced not to spend much because I had problems with exchanging my US dollars to ringgit and not a lot of places accept credit card for payment. But KK is actually pretty inexpensive, so your 30K will go a long way. I think I saw the Airport tax included in flight I booked. Nice review! Just wanna ask where is the best and not very expensive place to stay at KK which is near to attractions and airport. Will stay for 4 days. Thank you in advance for replying! Its location is okay — not central, but you can walk to the jetty, the morning market, etc. The airport is far from the city center. I have a fetish for souvenirs and I collect almost everything from trinkets to masks to handicrafts from every country I travel to. Amongst the melange of several souvenirs on my shelf is a tiny elephant with pink feet and ears resting under a coconut tree with its arms folded behind its head. Made of pewter, an alloy of tin, aluminium and copper, the piece was aptly titled Rest and Relaxation. It is my first pewter piece from Royal Selangor and although I bought several others, this one is a personal favourite. Shopping in Malaysia is a delight, if you are like me interested in local handicrafts. I have picked up wooden masks and carvings, shadow puppets, colourful kites, hand woven fans, batik sarongs among several other souvenirs. I have been told that the Handicraft Market in Kota Kinabalu or the Jonker Street Night Market in Malacca are some of the best places to shop, but you can visit many markets and shops in and around Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kelantan, among other cities. The joys of shopping in a market lies in the discovery of a unique product. Sometimes it can be a tribal blowpipe or an wooden ornate panel. It can be jewellery if you fancy pearls or just some interesting trinkets. Eventually it is all about carrying a bit of Malaysia with you as you return home. And the golden rule is that you can always bargain in any of these markets. This is a post that was published recently in Travel Wire Asi. It is just amazing to roam the bazaars and get a feel of the place. Your email address will not be published. Home About Work With Me. Lakshmi Sharath.
