It's time to surf the frozen world with the Korua Shapes Tranny Finder Snowboard. Just like a shorter, responsive surfboard, the Tranny Finder has a freestyle edge to the way it rides. A Camber Float profile creates lift and response across the entire mountain, making it perfect for cliff launches and cornice drops alike. With a Poplar Light core for liveliness, it'll be hard to ignore the limitless airtime options with the Korua Shapes Tranny Finder underfoot.

Float Camber

Korua Shapes smooth float-camber curves into a rockered shape in the nose area creating an "S" like shape. This design gives you the lift you need in deep powder, improving float while maintaining speed throughout the whole turn. On the other hand it also offers response and stability when going for airs or simply turning in variable conditions.

KORUA haven’t made a name for themselves by blending into the crowd. Even their simple, two-tone colourway makes their fleet instantly recognisable. Until the recent addition of the Otto, the Tranny Finder was their most conventional deck. Yearning for Turning has been the name of the game for the European carving crew, but the Tranny Finder isn’t afraid to mix things up.
When it comes to riding switch, Korua have split their boards into three categories: No Problem, Doable, and Challenging. Despite its directional shape, the Tranny Finder sits in the first grouping. Nor, as its name suggests, is it a stranger to spending time in the air and chucking the odd rotation.
Thanks to a blunt diamond-shaped nose and tail and extra width underfoot, the board can be sized down a little, making it feel like less of a tank to drive around the mountain. Moreover, by maintaining high overall volume and adding a scoop of rocker in the nose, you won’t encounter any issues keeping up top in the freshies.
“If you’re wanting to reach in and grab one board from the locker for mosts day of the season, here’s your weapon of choice”
There’s a decent chunk of backseat camber which, alongside KORUA’s unique carving sidecut, means the board stays responsive and grippy in hardpack. Additionally, by stiffening the tail just a touch, you can crank through the back-foot and dial up the angles without the imminent danger of skidding out.
The Tranny Finder genuinely holds up across the whole mountain. Of course, KORUA have an array of more niche products which cater to rider’s looking to burn their nipples off through a toe-side carve or eat powder for breakfast, lunch and dinner. That said, if you’re wanting to reach in and grab one board from the locker for most days of the season, they don’t come much more fun than this.
“So I already own a Stealth but was keen to see what that sliver of extra material in the tail did to the ride. Surprisingly, a lot more than I thought! I don’t know if it’s psychological, but just looking down at the board in switch suddenly looked so much more appealing and doable (although the Tranny Finder actually moves up in KORUA’s switch rating system from “Doable” to “No Problem”). I can’t say it made me any less hindered off-piste without that little cutout from the back either, which means I’m actually starting to question if I bought the right one… shit.
“If this is your first purchase in the world of yearning for turning, I’d say stick with the classic White ‘n’ Reds. They don’t come better than this one”
No harm done. You can’t really lose when you buy any one of these bad boys. Every shape to come out of the Swiss company is just built for carving up the groomers, and almost all perform off piste too. The Tranny Finder is the one to get if you’re wanting all the benefits of the sidecut and float, with a little extra bonus of a more freestyle friendly ride too.
I haven’t ridden the Tranny Finder+ yet, but I’ve heard some pretty epic things from friends. Having ridden KORUA snowboards for three years now, I could definitely be tempted. However, if this is your first purchase in the world of yearning for turning, I’d say stick with the classic White ‘n’ Reds.
They don’t come better than this one.”
“Before KORUA released its latest addition to their collection, the Otto, the Tranny Finder was the most freestyle focused their line. Using the same flex and profile of all the other boards in the line (apart from the new Otto) Korua relies on the different shapes of the boards to change their performance.
I am slightly over 6 feet tall and own the Tranny finder 157, I could of definitely gone for one of the longer boards in their line but coming from a mostly freestyle background I didn’t want to sacrifice too much manoeuvrability when I get #OccasionalAirTime (a tagKORUA often use on the gram).
“Allowed me to go deeper into turns and get more angulated on the piste than I’d ever been before!”
I was intimidated at first by the stiffness of the board but soon realised that a flex 7 feels just like a flex 4 if you go fast enough! The stiffness obviously helps for going full speed, and with it being wider than your usual freestyle deck it floats in powder effortlessly and allowed me to go deeper into turns and get more angulated on the piste than I’d ever been before!
I think the term is called ‘trench digging’ because your edge is angled so much when you carve you leave a deep line in the snow in your wake. I don’t know, but I’m definitely getting into a whole new and exciting type of riding thanks to this board.”

Korua Tranny Finder Snowboard Review. It's the go anywhere fast charging, fun filled board that's make you feel like a pro every time to strap in. Rider Specs. Weight — 72kg Foot Size — UK 9, US 10 Height — 5"11', 179cm Stance — +18, -9, 22 inches (58cm) Age — 45 yrs.
I demo'd a 157 Tranny Finder (regular version). I tend to ride wider boards but found the TF's 269mm waist width a bit of work. However, once you get it up to speed, it does tend to loosen up a bit and become easier to manage edge to edge. This is just one of those boards that are happiest going fast to take advantage of the mass and sidecut.
Transition Finder Airtime, Soulturns & Trenches The overhauled Transition Finder has slightly less taper than the original, and is now more than ever a true transition-magnet. It's the ultimate melting-pot of freeride, freestyle, and carving. It complements a surf-inspired riding style and allows you to ride creatively all over the mountain.
