Koh Tao buying powder

We crossed Poipet approx at Waiting, yes… We had to wait for 3 hours XD They let us leave only at 2. The exchange rate was Not so bad, considering where you are. We did just a couple of stops during the way, and we arrived in Bangkok at 6. Oh yes, because there are none of those in the city centre. First we stopped a taxi, we asked it the price baht to Sapan Taksin BTS station , and then we stopped a tuc tuc. This is a magic sentence! The price immediately dicreased to baht, a generous amount for him and a good price for you. You can find something also for baht, but we were tired, late, and had the backpacks with us. The driver was an expert one! Such a sweet and cute person :DD. She had to work to the night market, but she asked to her boss to get out before to show us the way. The apartment was located very close, metres from the exit. And wooooow! Private swimming pools, private gym, and a cozy apartment with a good view of the sunrise! A place just for us for some days, where we could cook our own stuff finally, after so long… I love street food, but maybe 2 months just eating in restaurants and streets are a too many. You deserve a proper pasta, after all! We spent some time chatting with Noyna, and she gave us precious advices about where to go and to spend our time and money XD. Maximum cash per transaction And some shops are specifically part of the area Hollywood is the cinema floor, Tokyo has many Japanese restaurants and clothes shops, Istanbul is like a jewelry grand bazaar, etc. It was absolutely worth the visit. Another one is Paragon Shopping Mall. The cinema at the 5 th floor was amazing. Great effects, and seats moving, and wind and air coming to your face, and all the rest. Air conditioning is always freezing I got a bad coff after a couple of days…. Not a decent map on the internet, with both monuments and trasportation system. So, this is the first thing you need. You can find good ones for free in every station, at the office counter. So, these are the things you need to know:. I felt sick, again. Coff and cold, this time. Damned air conditioning in the shopping malls and in the BTS trains! Today we explored the city centre. In Ratchawithi Road, and all around Chitralada Palace, there was a small canal, with turtles, crows, and… Varanus?? The huge rectiles were 1,5 mt long, and there were A LOT of them! Between all those tourist attractions, lots of markets souvenirs-oriented, with thousands of people living in tents and mosquito nets yes, on the streets. They were part of the protestants that were fighting in Bangkok in the last months. Anyway, this is the way a true protest should be. In my country, people think that you have to complain and protest just on Sunday afternoon, and at 8. Time for football and dinner! We went then to Khaosan Road the backpackers mecca , and we hang around the tourist centre. There is a info point on the river, next to the National Theatre and Museum, where you can get a good map for free. Simply destroyed, we went home. We went to see the Royal Palace and Wat Pho, entrance fees baht and baht. It took us three hours to visit everything. The dress code is severe about the entrance, so be sure you have knees and shoulders well covered before getting there even MEN , no transparences and nothing that you would wear in a muslim country, for example. The dress code in temples is almost the same. No hats as well. It will be hot during the day, so my suggestion is to wear flax trousers breathable matherial for your skin and to have a t-shirt. Wat Pho is not so strict for dress-code, but still you need to cover yourself when you enter to see the reclined Buddha statue. In both temples, they provide you free clothes if necessary but in the Royal Palace the queue is long, and you have to give baht deposit per piece. Marco and I had lunch in Maharaj Market, where we had the best lemon and orange juices of our lifes… Why is the fruit so good and tasty there?? They are two different products! We went down at Asok station, to return to Terminal 21 Shopping Mall. A cute dress, japanese-style, that you can see in the picture… No words to describe it!! Thanks Marco! We bought some food at the supermarket, Marco withdrew money once again, and we returned home, even more destroyed than the previous day, if possible. Today, we had guests! Well, they were in Bangkok as well, so I invited them home. They arrived around 2. Then I prepared pasta with Genovese pesto, and chicken breasts with mushrooms and onions cream. We talked a lot, watched videos on youtube, and laughed. I was surprised to hear that, in fact. And compared to Cambodia or Vietnam, accommodations are quite expensive as well. They have much more western tourists, so they probably get used to western prices. Days are passing by too fast. The girl that gave us the apartment keys! You can find them also in www. We all went in a japanese restaurant for dinner, and then head to the famous Sirocco Sky bar from the Hangover movie , at the 64 th floor of a dome-building mt from Taksin pier and bts station. So, the day was interesting and Noyna was the perfect local guide, very friendly and easy going! Love her! Today the plan is to take a train and head to Ayutthaya, a unesco site located not far from Bangkok town, just 1 hour and a half max. Check the time schedules in www. The trip itself will be an experience! You will cross the poor Bangkok surroundings, things that you would never see otherwise. At your arrival, take the street immediately in front of the train station and rent a bicycle for 40 baht, then take it to the ferry boat that will carry you on the other side of the river 4 baht per person, 2 baht per bicycle. I would suggest not to rent the bicycle on the other side, because when we arrived everybody said us that it was too late 1 pm and that there were no bikes for rental anymore. But everybody had a private tuc-tuc driver that could carry us for baht to the temples, for 1 hour service. And after this one, we head to Thanon Si Saphet. The two temples are But personally, we had enough of temples for a while, so we just went to the main two, spent two pleasant hours, and stop. We preferred to chat with our two new friends from Cesena Italy , Barbara and Stefano, instead. We met them just after the ferry boat ride, all of us where looking for a bike rental shop. Last day of the year! I met my love, Marco. Fuck the others! We spent the day lazily, relaxing in our home. First we entered Siam Shopping Mall and bought some italian sparkly wine spumanteeeee! We danced in the main squared, did the countdown, drank the wine and watched the fireworks. Then we had to say goodbye and return to the BTS-nightmare a fight to enter the train… , then home. Happy new year!! Why is it so fast?? Marco is filling me with 7-Eleven ice-creams. We met a german girl, Julie, 28 years old, that replied to my topic on couchsurfing, where I was searching for travel companions for Myanmar. She had to leave Bangkok in a couple of days and then head north, exactly like me, and then Myanmar. So we met in Taksin, and I carried her to Surasak, again to the Myanmar embassy. She was lucky because she managed to do it in the same day applying with two german guys who had the flight booked for the same day. We had lunch together and then returned to take the passport back. We shared our contacts, she thanked me for the assistance, and we said goodbye for now. We will meet again in Chiang Mai very soon, anyway. Marco and I spent the rest of the day crying, desperates. Then I carried him to the airport link railway, and we shared our goodbye. All I want to say is that there is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. I saw him growing up and blooming, opening his heart and soul to me, showing me his first emotions. There are no words to describe how happy and grateful I am. But what hurts more than that, are the memories of the happy moments gone. Slowly feeling better. Today is another day. Arranging web stuff, waiting to hear Marco on skype, arranging the next steps of my trip. Doing some couchrequests for Myanmar. Nothing to say. I felt asleep immediately. Woke up in the morning. I did some light breakfast and I jumped to the bottom seats. I started chatting with my neighboors, an Australian couple from Sydney and Melbourne, Noah and Chantal, and a 78 years old indian man who had been working for years in Germany, working as an aircraft engineer, and then went to live in Pai, Thailand. He teached us many things about Thailand, and explained us how Pai village is turning into a touristic attraction, increasing the number of inhabitants every year. The Australian couple teached me many things about how to find a job in Australia right now, and about the seasons in the different areas. Then we figured out that Chantal and I had booked exactly the same room of the same hostel. I said goodbye to everybody else and I checked in my Green Tulip House with Chantal, 85 Samlan Road, paying baht per night in a 6-bed female dormitory. You have just 6 matresses 5-cm from each other, on a wooden platform the lockers. Many people were complaining about it, but after so many poor countries, for me it was more than heaven! The market itself is nothing special, the average one VERY tourist-oriented, but there are tons of good food to taste, and everybody is there on Sunday. It runs from 4. Bodypainting, mafia, sanitary system in our countries, being-an-accountant-in-America, bureaucracy, italian-way-to-talk-with-no-shame-about-sex XD, American conservative lifestyle, and many others. I also had a very good soft cake, chocolate and strawberries We returned home at After a lazy wake-up, I got out of the hotel around I went with Jenny to the new downtown, at the north-west part of the city, and then we split. I kept exploring the area, and found a good shopping mall. After it, I went back to the hotel and then again, in the evening, to another new downtown, eastern part of the town, to see the riverside and the night bazaar with Julie. We had dinner together and chatted a lot about future plans. She booked a three day tour for elephant caring in a natural park for 7. I booked a one-day sightseeing tour for 1. Then, included in the tour, you usually have the hot springs, the Golden Triangle intersection between Thailand, Laos and Myanmar , Mae Sai border with Myanmar, and some hill tribe villages. Usually the price does NOT include the slow boat to cross the Golden Triangle baht and to enter the Laos market 30 baht , so ask about it. You can still wait in the parking lot for 1 hour and a half, but it would be boring. Alarm clock at 6. Nina and I woke up and got prepared for the pick up 7. It was something new to me, after all those golden temples! The inside is amazing as well no pictures allowed , with that huge painting with a modern view about buddhism and the world. Starting at the ground level with famous murderers, to the human beings, to the superheroes, to the big serpent-dragon that elevates your spirit to buddha level , to buddha itself and the heaven. To get there, you can take a minivan to Chiang Rai, they usually stop at the temple as well ask first and they costs baht. Think carefully about this. I think Chiang Rai has really nothing more to see. We just passed by it, but there are so many other places better then it in Northern Thailand. Head to Pai, instead! I started chatting with a Malaysian group of friends, and one was an active couchsurfer from Kuala Lumpur. We ended up sharing our contacts and spending the day all together with Nina. After the White Temple 30 minutes , we head to the Golden Triangle. Then, Mae Sai border! Again markets?? We arrived to the village. I was personally very disappointed noticing how commercial and touristic it was. There are just women there, and children. The other tribes are all together, just the Long Neck one is a bit apart, after a bamboo bridge, so you have space to go to a cash counter to pay for your entrance if not included in the tour. Those people seems to be very unhappy. Their smiles are fake. We took our minivan again and returned to town, almost a 3-hours drive. Almost km in one day, in total. When we arrived, around 9. Many people felt sick during the trip, so I would suggest you to sit in the front, if you have the opportunity. I was ok, after all. Bonfires every night, and the possibility to learn how to do many things, like juggling or dancing with fire! Great view of the mountains, 5 minutes walk from the city centre, a bit tricky to find, freezing in the winter during the night but they have many blankets , overpriced for meals, but still the coolest place ever!! Circus skills lessons: feather balancing, spinning plates, poi, staff, juggling balls, diabilo, devil sticks, juggling scarves, slack line, unicycle, stilt walking, balloon modelling, pedal goes. I was so tired that I just lied in bed until 4. As soon as I returned, a group of people from my bed dormitory asked me if I wanted to join them and to go together to the walking street. A true one! Interesting, weird, unusual day. I joined some people from the hostel for a nice walk outside of town. After km I realised that it was almost noon and I wanted to be back for 3 pm, to start my fire dancing course. So I turned back and I left the others. After 1 km, a motorbike stopped, and a Thai man asked me if I wanted a ride. I accepted and he carried me for the next km, and I did the rest walking. Returned to town sooner than expected, I searched for information on the travel agencies, just to discover that to go to Myanmar and travel inside the country, I had to take a bus to Chiang Mai, then from there a bus to Mae Sot border, and from there another one to Yangon. What a mess! But still possible, good to know, because my visa was about to expire 14 th January. So I started at 3. And I was learning very fast! Then in the evening we had the dinner for free, a good one! I tried to call my mother on Skype, but the wifi was very weak to me, not enough not make a call. I spent the rest of the evening on the bonfire with other people, and then went to bed at midnight. Lazy day. Set B5, please. Yes, this one, two eggs, three sausages, two slices of bread, butter, green tea. For baht. I just wish I could stay more! Well, who knows? So, in the end, I gave up. Same breakfast as always, and minivan at 10 am. A bit of nausea, and then arrival at 1. All the info on the next day, or at the beginning of Myanmar page. Better to reserve in advance via hostelbookers. They were selling the tickets to Mae Sot as well there, just charging for the pick-up service. Tours are convenient as well there. I went to buy the tablets for malaria prophilaxis, and a pharmacy gave me the Doxycycline for 3 baht per pill. When Julie arrived after her daily tour, we chatted a bit and talked about our future travel plans, then went to sleep. Mae Sot, to Myanmar border!! Not Mae Sai, no no. South again! Price baht, Green Bus Company, two buses per day, one at Journey last 5 hours approx. Anyway, I publish below all the Green Bus Company information from the bus station, click on the pictures to enlarge. You can take a train to Tak town, and from there take a minivan to Mae Sot, there are many daily, cost baht per person. Take a Songthaew to arrive to downtown, local people pay 40 baht in total for 6 people, you… Well, the miminum you can arrive to is 20 baht each. And consider yourself lucky, because a tuk-tuk asked us baht. To read all the time schedules of Mae Sot bus station, keep reading below 24 th January. We looked on the Lonely Planet guidebook and chose the Smile Guesthouse, not a fancy place, but there we had a double room for baht per night, with hot water, mosquito net on the windows, and free wifi. And we met many travellers and a great Burmese guy who gave us many information about Myanmar. We ate in the Night Market and then chatted until midnight with a french guy. So, if your visa was about to expire, or you were just searching for a quick visa run, you reached your purpose. Once again, baht, departure at There were many bus companies, with different times and prices. The website is www. The bus I took was from another company, however, below the time schedule for Bangkok, and all the towns where they stop during the journey with prices January Mae Sot — Bangkok prices and time schedules. After this long, last ride, I arrived in Mo Chit bus station. The problem was that, during the way, I got attacked by a pack of stray dogs. Only one bit me, before I pushed them away, but that was a damned problem. We called Andrea on skype, had a good long chat together, and then I called Marco, to say that I arrived safely. We went to bed approx. As soon as I woke up, I remembered the dog bite. I checked the situation, and yes, there was blood on my leg. So there was contact between teeth and blood. Too dangerous to risk, I immediately contacted my sister and my travel insurance. So in the afternoon I went there, and they were very professional. They explained me that I needed 5 boosts, one immediately, one in 3 days, one in 7, one in 14, and the last one in What a hassle! I was planning to stay in Bangkok just for 3 days, and I ended up staying 7 for this reason. I relaxed, updated blog and facebook as usual , I went to some shopping malls and got informed about what to do in southern Thailand and Malaysia. A really nice chat that lasted 6 hours, without noticing the time passing by! I went to the train station, but even the person from the information guided me to an agency second floor, in the train station. I paid baht for my ticket, with just one seat in a fan car for the night train. Departure time 7. Berth with fan approx. So, I paid my baht. And, guess? They just go downstairs to take the train ticket from the train desk! My real train ticket price was baht! Plus, baht for the ferry ticket Songserm company, slow boat, cheaper than the Lomprayah, that ask baht. Plus, 50 baht for the bus to get to the ferry, in Chumpon. Anyway, the agency took baht commission. They also push you to take the train at Final result? MY train, the one at That means that I had to pay:. Your Songserm ticket, not used, can still be used on the way back, if you plan to return Koh Tao — Chumpon. OR, can be turned into a Koh Tao — Koh Phangan ferry ticket, loosing all the price difference obviously this ticket is baht usually. While on my wait for the bus, I started to chat with an Argentinian guy. His name is Luciano, 35 years old, ex football player. So I kept talking and talking about it, everything-will-be-fine style, also on the bus to the pier. There we met two lovely Slovakian girls, Mariana and Mirka. To have no plans! So we got sunburnt immediately, me a bit less and as soon as we arrived we walked to Sairee beach, searching for an accommodation. Good wifi, good location, and average prices. We went to have a huge breakfast, and then decided to take a taxi boat to go to Koh Nang Yuan, a small private island north-east to Koh Tao. We shared it in 4 people, paying baht including the way back. Than, baht is the entrance fee to the island. Also bring a sandwich, to eat there is going to require almost your whole wallet! There is also a small path you can follow climbing the island. I would suggest to do it with trekking sandals, and not flip flops, but many people did it with flip flops and were fine anyway. I went to meet my host, whom messaged me while I was on the small island, and accepted my couchrequest. His name is Greg, Australian from Perth, a really nice guy. He was renting a bungalow in a hotel, and decided to share it with me for free. We spent the evening together, talking about Italy and Australia, about Muay Thai he was doing a course on the island , about scuba diving, and many other things. Today I had breakfast with Mirka, Mariana and Luciano for the last time. Than Mariana and Mirka will soon go to Koh Phangan, and Luciano will probably pick another scuba diving centre for his padi. The price is baht with 4 nights accommodation, or baht without it. You can find many cheaper places, but there I had an Italian private instructor just for myself, and that is what finally convinced me. From Torino, 37 years old. We spent two hours filling forms and introducing me to the stuff orientation. He gave me a dvd, and I had to study the firsts three chapters for the next morning goodbye party night…. During the day Greg brought me to Ao Chalot Ban Kao pictures above with a breathtaking view from the hill, and to freedom beach nearby. I love this life!!! Actually, it seems that my brain keeps working, also after all the alcohol and the wrong experiences I had in my life. Not a single problem to study, despite all the years of inactivity. I was well prepared. I think that was the most difficult thing I did so far. I had to fight against my instinct, screaming in my mind that breathing underwater was wrong. Everytime I was feeling like suffocating, even when I could breath thanks to the technical stuff I was wearing. It took almost two hours to handle this, and probably without Andrea more stubborn than me, and trusting me much more than myself I would never have finished my PADI. So yes, thanks Andrea for trusting me and pushing me so hard to keep trying! After the session I was completely destroyed. We finished much later than all the others, so it was cold in the swimming pool and I was freezing. I had an hamburger then, and back home. I was so tired that I fall asleep while talking with my host… Poor Greg, sorry!! Fuck, I hate to have an alarm clock on holiday. But I still have to study chapters number , required for the lesson in the morning. So I watched the dvd, made my tests, and went to the lesson. I had breakfast during the explanations, and tried my theory final test. And I passed it! Yeeah, no more studies! And the easy part is gone…. Twins is the name of the place we went first. Moreover, if I could stay on the bottom of a swimming pool, that means that I could probably also stay on the bottom of the sea! Breathing would be the same…. So I prepared my suit, one giant pass, and there I was! One final natural breathe, and down, underwater! We went down slowly, compensating often the ears blowing from the nose, and I started seeing all the fishes around us. As I was a bit scared, my instructor took my hand and drove me around, showing me the sea beauty. From time to time, he was pointing me some fishes and writing on the board or making a sign to make me understand the fish name. We made some exercises, and then returned to the boat. We waited on the boat for almost one hour, eating fresh watermelon and pineapple, to free almost completely our bodies from the gas in excess, and down again, to the White Rock diving spot, that time. Another great experience, with many other exercises. He borrowed me some clothes to allow me to take a shower and wash away the sea salt. So I went to dinner in a restaurant with him, dressed with visibly man clothes, and I think that the restaurant owner laughed a lot misunderstanding the situation Diana, obviously, what would you think if you were them? Then I returned home. Same procedure, we took the boat, and went to scuba diving at White Rock again. At the beginning I had the same problem I had in the swimming pool like feeling something wrong in the way I had to breathe? And then, underwater! This time mt. Slowly, compensating the ears, and then making exercises and enjoying the nature around us. And after the first dive, the second one was to the Red Rock. The last one is probably been the best for my confidence with the water. All the exercises went perfectly, it was much less cold than the previous one, I was feeling more used to everything. I took some confidence with diving always beside my master, but not absolutely being next to him. Then, I said goodbye and thanks to my host Greg such a good guy! I slept one hour in there, luckily it was half empty. As soon as I arrived a dutch girl from Amsterdam joined me for the taxi to Hat Rin village baht each, fuck you… , and for lunch in Greenpeace Restaurant. The journey was not long, and we arrived in Thong Sala pier. From there, I took a Songrathew with many other people, to get to Hat Rin, the sourthern part of the island, where you can find Sunrise good beach, and Sunset beach just a private line of sand owned by bungalows. I went to have lunch with a Dutch girl, Samira from Amsterdam. She was at the beginning of her trip, so I helped her as I could. I gave her many tips and I teached her how to stretch the backpack properly, as I saw it was not stretch at all, and so heavy for shoulders and back. GreenPeace Restaurant had good wifi, good and clean food, expensive as everywhere else on the island or maybe a bit less, but small portions. Even supermarkets are expensive. Once I saw some Oreo biscuits sold for 50 baht per packet! Yes, the same ones you usually find in 7-Eleven for baht…. I stopped a girl in the restaurant and asked her where she was staying. She gave me directions to get to Our house Hostel, very close to Sunrise Beach, for baht per night in a 8 bed dormitory. The wifi is shitty, everytime I had to struggle to do everything, so I was going to eat always in Greenpeace Restaurant, where it was quite good. Chill in day. Looking around it seems to me that there is nothing new they can offer. All the travel agencies are promoting boat trips, snorkelling trips, fishing trips, and some an excursion to Ang Thong Marine National Park. All those for a ridiculously, expensive price. Some can be reached just with a taxi-boat! Yes, one way. And yes, I can enjoy also with other people relaxing beside of me. To rent a motorbike, learn how to ride it on the up and down streets, pay baht for the rent, baht for the parking every time you reach a beach, and then fight against who want you to pay the price of the whole motorbike for a small scratch that was probably there before you. If you are searching for a way to destroy yourself with drugs and alcohol and tetanus, the fullmoon party is your moment. Many hotels require a minimum of 3 nights of stay, and double prices. Also consider that the day after the party every boat will be crowded with people suffering for the hangover, and puking everywhere. Today I spent the day at the Sunrise Beach. I look like a zebra thanks to all the travelling! So I got a bit sunburnt, but not too much, in the areas where I was still pale. I took many baths, as the water was clean and transparent. The sand is white and soft, and you can see the jungle in the hills surrounding the beach, with coconut palms everywhere. But still, boring after one day, for me. So when I returned back from the beach I booked my ticket to Penang, Malaysia, for the next morning. All the agencies have almost the same price. The cheapest I found was in Yoghurt travel agency, very close to the beach, for baht. After a 10 km ride, we get to the pier, where we exchanged our voucher. Then, two hours by boat to get to Surat Thani. After it, half an hour in a vip bus, and many hours in a minivan squeezed XD to reach the border. And here I am, once again! The reason, why? Well, Marco is back to me, and Airasia flights are quite cheap… So, why not to return back to join the Songkran, and to write a new record in my life? And Marco wanted to do the advanced open water course. So, we had a plan: some days in Koh Tao, and then back to Bangkok, to join the Songkran. And we will catch up with Andrea in Koh Tao, in few days. With this idea in our mind, we landed in Don Mueang Airport. It was just one packet on cigarettes, still sealed and brand new. So we ate some biscuits and Marco withdrew money from an Atm. We still had some Indonesian Rupia with us, but we decided not to exchange there, as we noticed that they were taking almost half of the amount we were giving as a commission!! What a poor exchange rate, they wanted to give us baht instead of baht! Meanwhile I searched for a way to exchange baht into smaller pieces, to pay for the bus ticket. I noticed a girl doing the same with a currency exchange, and they took 15 baht commission. Even with the same currency? We went outside and turned right. Keep walking, we found a private bus station for touristic buses. We turned left ask for directions in case you need and we found the main street, with a bus stop. But we wanted to do it in a cheap and local way, and we were going to Hua Lamphong Train Station. So we went to that bus stop and took the bus no. Tired and hungry, we arrived at the train station only to figure out that… All the tickets to Chumpon were already sold. ALL the tickets, in all the trains, until the evening of the next day. I spent ten minutes sat in the hall, just to think, desperate. So I left Marco downstairs with the backpacks, and returned once again to the agency I went to the first time. And puff!! They were able to find two tickets with the next train, leaving at 7. Two berths in second class, with air-con. The tickets were already sold, yes… To travel agencies. So that they could charge them more. Shitty system. They could only sell us the joint ticket, obviously for their convenience. Please note that the train tickets themselves have a cost of baht each. Usually the Songserm boat is baht p. The two buses, even if well different, cost equally 50 baht p. Do you understand now why I tried to go straight to the train station, instead of going through the agency? But there must be some kind of agreement, because if I look at my train tickets, they were ISSUED while I was in the agency, with the time and date printed on them. But 10 minutes before the two tickets were not available from the desk downstairs… Crazy, uh? There is no way to avoid the scamming, so, peace of mind, my friends. I even tried asking just the ticket to Chumphon, and not directly to Koh Tao, to buy the boat tickets only when arrived so that I knew my time of arrival and which company to take. But I was talking about two options… Well, the second one was the bus. Yep, the same buses that departs from Khaosan Road, also stops at Hua Lamphong train station at 7. So, no risks to lose it. Because they have a seriously bad reputation! It DOES happen, in every single trip. So, they recommend to take the bus only if desperate and with only dirty and shitty clothes inside your backpack, and nothing more valuable than that. Surprisingly, it left on time, at 7. We watched the last released episodes of some tv series, and crashed to bed early, tired of the long trip. I knew the place, so I went to buy our breakfast hot tea, eggs and toast for 70 baht. Tired because of the bad sleep of the night, I took the boat that left at 7. We could see so deeply! We took our backpacks and started walking to Sairee Beach, our destination. I knew exactly where to go. We went to Mr. But they also have a small supermarket and are a ticket office, and surprisingly are not pushing you to buy anything. They have lockers, a boiler and free wifi in the reception, and a small beach just at the end of the stairs to the rooms. Laundry service at payment, and a 6-pack recycled bottles of water for as cheap as 30 baht, a fair price. There is a deposit for the keys, and they are straight to fine you baht if you leave the room with the lights on, or if you check-out after 11 am. In case you want air-con rooms, you can have them for baht, but it always depend on which rooms are available. After we settled in our room, finally brushed our teeth and restored our appearance to a decent level. I tried many atm but nobody seems to work with my Visa. I guy told me that there were many cases of fake atm boxes not giving money and cloning the credit cards recently, so I stopped trying for the moment. He immediately started studying, and kept going until 6. We had a beer watching for the sunset, and then a good pizza in a restaurant funghi e prosciutto… Andrea recommended me to use the atm close to the 7-Eleven, as it was reliable. So I finally withdrew money, but I preferred to do it with my Mastercard, as it was not connected with my bank account but was a prepaid one. Useless to say that I paid a enormous commission, but my Visa was not allowing me to withdraw money anyway… Also during my first visit, I always had to withdraw money with my Mastercard. Today I woke up too early. Do not exceed! Marco had the alarm clock at 7. I woke him up, and he left to start his review. I joined them for the boat trip in the afternoon, and while Andrea and Marco went diving, I went snorkelling for free XD. After the two dives, the boat returned to Sairee beach. I returned to my hotel to take a shower, while Marco exited once again, with another boat, to do the night dive. We met again at 9. Marco studied diving theory in the morning, and went to do another dive in the afternoon. He was coming from Koh Samui. After almost one year, we finally could meet up again! We also booked the ticket back to Bangkok, always with Mr. Departure at The other option available was departure 2. Why to book so in advance? Because of the Songkran, of course! When I previously checked at Lomprayah pier, they said that all the trains were already fully booked for 10 th and 11 th April. So, no other way! We will just be careful with our valuables, and pray that everything will be fine. Then we had a walk around town until late, and when we returned back it was already 1. Marco and Elveziano remained to talk outside of the room until really late, approx. Yep, because Marco decided to do also the Nitrox certification, that took him only one day and two divings. After breakfast I let them study, as in the afternoon they were busy diving. I returned to my hotel and met Elveziano, that meanwhile had rent a manual-gear scooter. We went south first, and then north to Nangyuan viewpoint free and Mango viewpoint 20 baht. We walked to Simple Life Restaurant, on the opposite side of the village, and we had a quite good all-you-can-eat pizza for baht. In the end a think we probably ate one pizza and a half each, because we arrived at 8. But if you would come there at the beginning 6. By the way, we were fully satisfied. We went to the beach to look at the fire games, and we were back home around midnight. Elveziano had a diving booked for the next morning, Marco was destroyed by the three days already spent diving, and… I was destroyed for no reason, like always in the last two months. The long trip is affecting my resistance, at last. Sweet dreams! We spent the afternoon with Elveziano and had dinner with the instructor. I felt horrible today. The cold slowly turned into something alien stuck in my throat. Then I had a huuuge bacon and egg sandwich for lunch. The day passed by lazily, and finally I could have a evening going to bed early. Tonight I had been sleeping for almost 10 hours! We hugged each other, I introduced him to Marco and Elveziano. We agreed on meeting again at the beach later, and I had a huge chicken sandwich with French fries. We talked about his experience in India and Myanmar, and my experience in Malaysia and Indonesia, about his relationship and many other topics. In the evening Marco bought some UV colours and we prepared the backpacks for the next day. After it we said goodbye to Luciano once again, and went to one of the most popular bars on the beach. Marco painted me with the colours yuhuu, my first uv painting bodypainting and we danced until 1. Nothing particular to say about today. We took the Lomprayah boat at The bus arrived at 1. The bus stopped for half an hour between 3. Luckily in front of it, a bit hidden after the gas station, there was a small supermarket with normal prices, but almost nobody noticed it. Marco and I slept for most of the time, and we all reached Bangkok Khaosan Road only drop off at 8. Just a chilling day. I felt a bit sick and tired, so I stayed home all day, while Marco and Elveziano went to some technological advanced shopping mall. Much better today! As I finally felt ok, and the cold was gone, we hanged out all together in the afternoon. We returned to the shopping mall where Marco and Elveziano went the day before, just to figure out that my mobile phone was more damaged than expected. So I refused to get it repaired for twice the price, took it back and we went to see Captain America 2 — Winter Soldier at the cinema, a really good movie! Water guns, buckets of iced water, other buckets of CLAY, and, why not, some clay with a small add of MINT talcum powder, so it will burn your skin like hell. And for streets and squares, in many districts. In every town it last for a different time lapse. Khaosan Road, the backpacker area by excellence, is for sure the messiest one. Then, RCA an area with clubs, but since they started asking baht as entrance fee… That is not really worth it, if I can say, because there are so many other places for free! How to recharge your water? There will be plenty of people offering to refill your gun with normal, cold or iced water for as cheap as baht per time. Did you broke your water gun? On the streets everybody will be selling tons of them. And also in 7-Eleven supermarkets. Bangkok, Songkran — Central World Plaza. But there are also people throwing buckets of water on the whole crowd, so you WILL get wet, and your stuff with you as well. The first day we reunited with Noyna again do you remember her? In Centralworld Plaza there was a great battlefield! Half of it was with water guns, first everybody against one, and then everybody against everybody, then again one team against another one, then total madness! The other half was a huge bubble bath field, where you were obliged to empty the waterguns at the entrance, and then just act like crazy, dance, fight, and do everything you feel like with the bubbles. The second day we went to Khaosan Road. People asked us up to baht for a 30 minutes ride! But people tend to raise up prices during the festival, so prepare your best bargaining skills. Khaosan Road is even a bit too much for me. Too crowded, people barely moving and pushing each other trying to walk away from the mess, or to go to a specific place. You can sit in a bar and shoot the people passing by, if you are tired of being pushed here and there. You can dance, listen to the music. An experience that, however, you shall have at least once in your lifetime. Today we took a day off. We know, the Songrkan is still out there, but we are tired of being wet. Eh yes, because today we have to say goodbye to Elveziano, that we will meet again in ten days in a different location. Becase today we have to say goodbye to Asia, for now. Time to take a flight! Marco and I reminded the first time we had to deal with this airport: he was returning home, and we were temporary splitting, for one month and a half. How painful it was! But this time, we will be together. This is the end of my trip around Asia. But not today. Hey asphalt and hygiene! Welcome back modernisation and civilization! As I was tired of dusty roads and intestinal problems XD and uncomfortable hours fighting against bedbugs, mosquitos, and language problems, it was good to be in a place where everything was designed for tourists and foreigners. Yes, the other face of the coin is that Thailand is commercial. Bangkok has its own personality. Every bts or mtr stop is a new area, a new face of the shining jewel. But Pai changed my mind, with the circus school and his hippie lifestyle. And southern Thailand… Well, the sea is simply amazing. Koh Tao is a gem of an island. And the divings! Then, once again, the Songrkan! I fell in love with Thailand as well!! The good people, the particular food, the amazing landscapes. Just love it!! This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Hi, just read that a very effective ant killer is boric acid mixed with sugar and water. And non carcinogenic! I have seen on the Farm forum I think people finding it for about a baht up north. Last lot I got came from overseas in a 2 kg box, brought in by a friend. Just got grams from Ebay for thb delivered, time to rain unholy death and destruction upon the ant intruders! You don't need a large amount in any one area I am still trying to track down an cheaper alternative The little suckers went for it hard yesterday, i expect to hear wailing and funeral dirges from their evil little lair. I did have one that had same problem as you and took it to Samsung repair centre. They said about bht to fix and I said no thanks as can buy new for another bht on top of that. Took it home and thought it was the backlight that was the problem so took it apart and could see where some parts were bust on the light strips. Then ordered same strips on Lazada for less than bht I think it was and then fitted them using a YouTube video. Put it all together and hey presto worked perfectly. Was pretty easy to take apart , apart from removing the edging from the white board inside was a bit annoying as the edges were sharp and cut myself trying to separate it. Very easy to put back together. If you have patience and time I suggest trying to sort it yourself. Watershed moment: harris shuns live fundraiser and shuns Jesus comments She made a joke. If there had not been so many people that obtained a visa to visit the US and then failed to return this wouldn't happen. It has happened in many other countries too, once in the US there is no immigration checking to see where they are as is a must here.
