Knowledge Graphs in the AI-Driven Era: Emerging Trends and Real-World Applications

Today, we are witnessing the disruptive impact of AI and large language models (LLMs) across various scientific domains, along with their seamless integration into our daily lives. While AI, knowledge engineering, and logic have been subjects of research for decades, the significance of combining symbolic (logic-based) and subsymbolic (neural network) approaches has only recently been fully recognized. This realization has led to the widespread adoption of Neuro-Symbolic Systems (NeSys). In this talk, we explore the role of Knowledge Graphs and Semantic Web technologies within this evolving landscape, highlighting their complementary relationship with LLMs in advancing AI-driven applications.
