Went to watch some live music here. The pub is only a short walk from train station and has a seperate function room called the barn which is quite small but a nice little place for a gathering. The main pub is also quite cosy and traditional. The music room is intimate but great light and sound and toilets were also clean and well stocked. All staff very friendly.
Hi So sorry its taken a while to respond to your review, its been a tough year! Thank you for your lovely comments and support
Bad customer service, strict and expensive. They let us in and we bought beer. I checked for 10sec is my friend was outside (couldn't find her)... Then, they didn't let me go back. Me and my friends made it clear that we all had full pints and I couldn't wait outside by myself. Plus I just bought a pint literally 1min before. They were very happy to tell us that we could all leave. They didn't tell me anything when I stepped out of thr pub with no jacket or bag (so obviously not leaving definitely). Then they told me it was too late to get in (but I was in 10sec before). It was very obvious that they were happy to kick us out and have made money out if it (as we bought full pibts just before).
Hi Charlotte, Thank you for taking time to write a review. We are sorry that you found yourself in a situation where you weren't able to get back into The Horn after leaving after 1am. This is part of our licensing requirements and is clearly stated on a sign on our front door. Our meet and greet security are aware of this and also apply some common sense if someone has to pop outside to use their phone to call a taxi or see a friend off. If you need to do this in the future please advise the meet and greet security of your reason before leaving. Kind regards The Horn
It was with trepidation that we decided to eat here before a gig. The Horn is famous as a music venue but we did not think that food would be high on its priority list. But we had a very good meal. The menu is predominantly burgers - so that is what we had and they were very good. The chips were some of the best we had ever had! This is not Michelin star food, & it doesn't suggest that it is, but you will not be disappointed grabbing a pub meal here before a gig.
Hi and thanks for leaving such a lovely review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the burgers we serve. They are freshly made using local produce and seem to be a hit with everyone. Kind regards The Horn
Came back again last night to see 6 go mad 80’s band, absolutely fantastic, we sung and danced all night, I’m a bit sore today from all that jumping around, great pub. Thank you.
Hi and thanks for your great review. So glad you enjoyed the band they always deliver a good night of fun. we really appreciate your support Kind regards The Horn
Visited the legendary Horn public house in St Albans for a weekday lunch. The weekday lunchtime menu deal was £6.95 for burger, chips and a carbonated soft drink. The chips were excellent, the burger was very good, but I would have preferred a non-carbonated drink e.g. fruit juice. The pub walls are covered with photos of bands who have played at The Horn, many of which are household names. Bands who have played at the Horn include Chrissie Hynde, Geno Washington, Hazel O’Connor, Motorhead, Paul Young, Pete Best , Sade, Tom Robinson, Toyah Wilcox, U2 and Wishbone Ash, to name just a few (well the bands / artists that I had heard off anyway). Apparently, Kym Wilde used to work behind the bar. The building was originally a hotel called The Railway, but became a public house in 1974.
Hi Andrew, Thanks you so much for your review. We do have non carbonated soft drinks so we will look into this option as part of the meal deal. Thanks for taking time to look into some of the history of The Horn. Kind regards The Horn

Today I went to wildwood with my partner who had never been before and what an experience… we went for some lunch and it was beyond a joke to sit outside and wait half an hour before being spoken to about even a drink. In the end we chose to leave and go to somewhere else. This is somewhere I will not be going back to.
Thanks to Ivan for helping us decide on a meal and David for assisting on dessert options. Both for being overall happy and easy to talk to during our meal here :) A lovely atmosphere when you walk in too!! Thanks again - tayla & shay
Big thanks to David and Ivan for a lovely experience and very fast service. Absolutely no complaints about the food and the atmosphere was so welcoming. I come here often and the overall service never disappoints. Amazing value for money and will continue to recommend to friends and family! -shay&tayla
Booked with friends. Despite being ,what appeared to be,fully staffed and half empty, the service was very slow. We waited about 10 minutes for drinks and my food didn't arrive with the others yet Waitress came over to do a follow up????? My friends tap water got forgotten. We also had to split our own bill when surely the restaurant had the technology to do this???? We refused to pay service charge and will stick with prezzo in future.
Been to Wildwood many times before, as I really like it. However, today I ordered my favourite goat cheese, courgette calzone and I have noticed a change. The calzone was like never before! Tested heavenly, balanced and crispy where you need it and soft when you want it. Amazing performance of Jahmal and Tyrell. Friend of mine admitted that the mushroom risotto was "one of the best ever had" and the other friend had the best vegan pizza since he became vegan. Also manager on duty came extremely funny and thovely waitresses well knowledgeable and helpful. Well done Wildwood. Thank you for very pleasant culinary experience.

Beautiful lighthouse that you can have a tour round. The tour guide and other staff were really friendly. The lighthouse has fantastic views. The area has a good parking area and toilets.A must see if you visit the area.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Very informative, and seeing the recently changed old light and optic was pretty cool. It's a long way up, but the view from the top is spectacular. Both kids very happy with their badges and certificates! The rock climbing after was good fun too. Only negative was sorting out the payment for the car park - easy enough for us on the app, but others were having difficulty. However, I'm not going to knock down the score for something that didn't affect the experience!
Excellent guided tour going up the lighthouse, very informative well worth a visit with fantastic views.
Loved it great views - unfortunately couldn't go up the lighthouse due to maintenance team working up there
Beautiful views ! The guided tour was excellent- very interesting and the guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
I love coming down to photograph this and the other two lighthouses in a close proximity. The walk along the coast is very pretty as there is a few good places for photo opportunities or sit on the benches to relax and enjoy the views.

We arrived to a sign about not accepting walk ins. We did wait for the host to come along and enquire and she said we could come in and kindly heard our request for a booth seat. This did feel a bit special until we realised that 5 groups after us were also not bookings but we’re allowed through.. makes you question what the point of the sign is.. especially in the half empty pub. I had soup and a chicken burger and to be honest both were extremely disappointing. The soup was very thin and covered in oil. Also, there is definitely no need to put two rolls on the plate for a starter, huge waste of money for the business and fills people up too much. The burger was disgusting. Chicken cooked within an inch of its life, I felt like I was at a BBQ with the amount of charcoal on it. I wish I had read the menu properly as it came with burger sauce with is also absolutely disgusting but certainly not their fault as I should have read. Our whole experience was made better by Nikita who unlike many of her colleagues was an absolute ray of sunshine. She made us feel really welcome and was patient with us being indecisive. I would recommend to friends but suggest they try other dishes on the menu and also based on Nikitas service 10/10 and deserves to be recognised- great potential from her
Just had the worse customer service at harvester in Weymouth. Went in with the family was told there’s no table inside but we are welcome to have a table in the garden, which we did. Sun was so hot so we moved to a cooler place, ordered food and drink, waiter bring the food out and left it on a different table to us because of health and safety reasons he couldn’t bring it up to us as there’s steps, which is fair enough but he could’ve at least wait by the food whiles we get it from him to take to the family instead he walked away and complaining to his manager that we wasn’t happy… doh when you pay for a service obviously you expect that you should have a service or at least told at booking’s that they wouldn’t take the food upstairs. Very very POOR SERVICE.
Hi Jenny01305, Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent experience with us. We are disappointed to hear that you are not satisfied with your visit. When your party came to order and spoke to our team about moving, it was explained to you that we wouldn't be able to deliver your food up the steps due to health and safety and you were offered to sit in the bar area so you were out of the sun instead. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope you will consider us again in future. The Spyglass Inn
Popped in with 4 adults and 2 children. Staff were friendly and service was efficient. Food was decent pub grub and the salad bar was well stocked and fresh. I notice a lot of the negative reviews were from people who were not able to help them selves to the salad bar. I can confirm it is back to how it used to be and you can help yourself. Portions were decent and was an enjoyable evening. Also if you have made a purchase on compare the market you get 25% off Monday to Wednesday using compare the market rewards.
Bolt1983, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at The Spyglass Inn! Our team strives to deliver an excellent experience, and are glad you found this to be the case during your visit. If you have further needs or questions, please reach out! Thank you, and have a fantastic day!
Nice location near the beach. Standard harvester menu with salad bar. Portions a good size and selection of drinks. Friendly staff but they clearly need more.
Hi Kittykate96, we are very happy to have provided you with such a positive experience! We look forward to your next visit! Take care!
Very basic food. Mains £12-£16 so even with basic free salad not even a super cheap option. Service was v slow. On plus side we sat outside and views were nice. Dogs welcome outside
Hi Londonad, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will use your comments to refine our efforts to ensure this issue does not happen again.
