Kitty Misfit is a 23-year-old camgirl from Newcastle, who recently made her debut in the porn industry.
Kitty, who makes a living by offering webcam shows to an online audience, first got into camming after modelling and doing burlesque for a couple of years with a friend who’d mentioned about taking up webcam shows on the side.
For those who are unaware of what ‘camming’ is, it’s where a woman – or a man – entertains others for sexual purposes online. While many assume this involves the performer stripping naked or masturbating, that isn’t always the case.
Some customers log onto the cam sites simply to talk to the models – while others join chat rooms in hopes of the models living out their fetishes.
At first, Kitty brushed off the idea of camming, assuming that webcam shows were just ‘full on porn’. But once she realised camming depends on what a model is comfortable with doing on the internet and setting their own prices, she was all for it – and first started out by offering burlesque shows on camera.
Kitty is pretty adventurous with her shows and often dresses up, strips down, and uses sex toys on camera. She also offers one-to-one, private shows to those willing to pay more.
In an interview with Metro.co.uk, Kitty, whose real name cannot be shared, said: ‘An average night goes like this: I’ll post about going on cam and if I don’t get private Skype sessions I will log into the cam site onto preview where I sit and chat to the customers and tell them what I do.
‘I tend to wear a t-shirt or a little skirt as you can’t be nude in the preview. I will get a customer who wants me to dress up specifically in stockings so I will put them on before he takes me into a show. There’s not really an average show!
‘I domme sometimes as there are submissive men who enjoy being humiliated.
‘I strip tease a lot on cam, people enjoy the dancing.. and other times I will do “porn” style! Honestly it’s all about what the customer wants… sometimes its just a chat and some company!’
According to Kitty, her audience is predominantly male, though the cam sites she uses contain thousands of viewers – so it often depends on what she’s offering when it comes to who will view.
‘Some will come, start a show, tell me to strip and leave after 3 minutes,’ explained Kitty. Others I have formed a friendship with over the years and I will know exactly what they like. I have a long-term customer who liked to be dominated and spoken to about it in great depth.’
While Kitty keeps many of her clients unaware of her real identity, she says she’s more open with long-term customers – even sharing her real name.
But despite the honesty, all prices remain the same – and apparently, these rates are pretty good. Though Kitty wasn’t happy to disclose her wage, she says camming earns her a full-time living.
Of course, what with Kitty meeting all types of strangers on the internet, we just had to ask her about the strangest request she’d ever received from a customer.
She told us: ‘I think the strangest thing still to this day was when I first started. I got a customer who enjoyed sploshing, which is food and mess play.
‘I got asked if I had any custard, which is a common thing that people rub onto their bodies to get the customer off. However I didn’t. I ended up having to tell him to wait 5 minutes, blend some bananas, make a smoothie, get in the bath, and rub this smoothie on myself. He enjoyed it a lot and gave me a tip on top of my rate. He was lovely!’
While we were interested in talking to Kitty about what goes on on the camera, we also really wanted to know how the industry makes her feel when she’s not camming.
So far for Kitty her time in the industry has been incredibly positive, and she feels it has completely boosted the way she feels about herself. She thinks it’s important that others realise how beneficial it has been for her, not just financially speaking.
She said: ‘Camming has helped my self esteem. I get so many customers telling me how I am beautiful.
‘Some of them tell me things like “If I was yours I’d treat you like a princess”. It’s lovely! Its not derogatory at all. I’ve never done something on cam I haven’t wanted to do because I just say no. I do have limits that I won’t do on cam.

You know that saying, don’t bring your problems to work, bring your solutions? Well on camera I am Kitty. I don’t have issues with my body. Off camera, I feel like a real person. Everyone has bad days. There’s no stopping that. It’s the good days to keep you going, and working helps me with that.’
Kitty added: ‘Camming for me is definitely a profession. I see myself as a brand and through that make lots of business decisions.’
Kitty’s recently decided to take her career a step further by dipping into the porn industry. She jumped straight into the deep end by filming her first boy/girl scene – a scene which saw her having sex and performing oral sex on a male porn star.
(The term boy/girl tells both the director and the porn stars how many people of which gender they will be performing with that day – so for instance a threesome may entail girl/boy/boy.)
Though it was a scary step for Kitty, who says she will still be sticking to cam-work when at home, she thoroughly enjoyed shooting her first scene – though she says she’s still experimenting with working with other people on camera, as it’s not something she’s used to.
Kitty explained: ‘I’ve been creating my own pornographic content on my official website for a while. I plan to do this alongside camming for the long term. I have recently worked with my first porn company.
‘I’m taking porn a little slower than camming and modelling as I want to work for companies who I feel are right for me as a person.
‘Going into the porn industry felt like a very natural decision for me after modelling for years, being a cam girl for years, and being a very sexual person. Being involved in all of this it felt like something I wanted to try. My plans for porn are to make a career out of it while I can continue producing content that I enjoy creating and for others to enjoy watching.
‘There are endless options for porn so if I feel I don’t want to be talent anymore I would love to go into photography side of porn and still be in the industry.
‘Porn is definitely something I feel strongly about as its very empowering for me so I love to show others expressing their sexuality in creative and unique ways.’
While Kitty’s cam shows feature mainly masturbation and offering clients an online experience catered solely to their fetishes, with porn, Kitty’s going to be expected to actually live out these fetishes – which she says is something she’s really excited about.
‘I’m wanting to explore my own sexuality a little so if I get to shoot something I’m not familiar with, for example a new fetish, it’s all the more fun!’ she explained.
‘I’ve already found a lot about myself through webcamming alone. But as for now and scenes, I have some storyline/scenario scenes coming up with a company which is just boy/girl or boy/girl/girl but nothing hardcore or crazy (yet!)’
Though the porn industry is, for the most part, incredibly professional – with consistent STI checks, age regulations and contracts – many of us have a dim view of the industry, despite being avid viewers ourselves.
This is because so many of us can’t get their heads around getting so personal for money – let alone for the world to see – with some deeming getting sexual on camera to be ‘immoral’ despite using it as entertainment.
But Kitty is adamant that this view is incredibly reductive – explaining that so far, her experience with porn has been brilliant.
She said: ‘People in the porn industry are just normal people! I’ve been spoken to much worse by people out of the industry.
‘Like everything, there’s bad people and good people. When there’s someone bad in the porn industry it’s in the limelight so it gets shown and spoken about more. People don’t praise the good people enough.
‘A few days ago I went to the porn awards and everyone was absolutely lovely. I made so many new friends and people I hope to work with.
‘I was in a room full of people who get empowered, [they’re] not denied the feeling of empowerment because they feel it’s wrong.’
Kitty is also hoping to demolish the view that women are portrayed as sex objects within porn – or that they are always treated with a lack of respect.
In fact, she deems women in porn to be the ‘stars of the show’, explaining: ‘Even when the camera is turned off many of the girls tell me that the studs, producers, etc treat them incredibly well. It is definitely a choice.
‘If you want to be in porn do it. Don’t let anyone stop you. If you feel that porn will empower you and you will be confident doing it with the professionals then do it! People think a lot more into it than it actually is.
‘For the most part, you go to work, get into some technical positions, get paid and go home. I love it!’
What with Kitty currently loving her life as a sex worker, she hopes to keep building up her reputation within the industry to widen both her audience and experience.

‘I want to enjoy my job and keep it that way. I aim to never wake up with regrets and because of that I take everything I do very seriously. Maybe one day I’ll move into production and photography. But for now, I’m just happy being Kitty Misfit.’
All that being said, Kitty has some stern words for anyone hoping to make their mark on the industry themselves – mainly centering on avoiding getting into the industry solely for financial purposes.
She warned: ‘Don’t do anything you don’t want to do. If you get a bad customer on cam, block him. Don’t do anything on cam for free because people will trick you. Whether it’s a hobby or work treat it professionally.
‘Don’t go to a shoot before researching the photographer or company. Shoot with reputable companies. If you have any insecurities about the shoot, don’t do it.
‘And the most important… don’t do it just for the money.’
