This cobra was of a species which spat its venom from a distance, its mouth half open, the snake forcibly ejecting the venom through its fangs by muscular pressure on the venom glands. Hising, writhing, the venomous cobra seeks out its prey… When Sir Keith Chase of Oxford University and Chandra Sen stumble upon the sacred crypt of Monosha in West Bengal, they think it is the archaeological find of the century. What Keith didn't know was that by breaking open the musty burial chamber, he had brought upon himself one of the most ancient and terrifying curses known to Man. The mysterious Temple of Anant, the burial location of Anandatirtha and his low caste wife, Khullana, is guarded by Lord Shiva, God of Destruction and his wife Durga. The depth of the couple’s love touched the hearts of the deities, who swore a pact with Anandatirtha to protect them within the sanctuary of the temple. Durga swore that she would stand guard with her sister Monosha, the mother serpent, whose earthly form is that of a cobra. Woe betide any god or mortal who dared to profane the sanctuary with their presence. Sir Keith’s son, James Chase, begins looking into the strange deaths that have been occurring in the area. However, he meets a surprising amount of resistance, both mortal, and supernatural. Praise for Peter Tremayne: ‘… excellent ... Tremayne does his usual masterful job’ – Publishers Weekly ‘A classic puzzle.’ – Kirkus Reviews ‘cleverly plotted and beautifully written…’ – Independent.ie ‘the characters are most memorable. A very enjoyable read’ – Historical Novel Society 'Splendidly exciting' – Fred Nolan, author of Brass Target Peter Tremayne is the fiction writing pseudonym of the Celtic scholar and author Peter Berresford Ellis. What is the role of the modern Prince and his sinister wife, the enigmatic ranee? With this book you'll start an fascinating adventure in India, Nangapore, full of mystery and mythology come alive. Can Jim and Sony survive the revenge of Durga, Monosha and their minions? There are many eerie moments here. It's a fine 80s horror novel with rich cultural background, Indian mythology, fast paced and with a likeable main character. You won't regret reading this book. It was highly entertaining, informative (the episode with the Brahmin) and eerie. Highly recommended!

This book had a bit of a Sax Rohmer feel, although with rather less jingoism. It's set in the Mysterious East, and features the Plucky Englishman and the Beautiful Native Girl as main characters. The weird thing was that I couldn't place the story in time. It's set in India, after 1948, but I only caught two real clues as to time. First, our hero travels in a 747, which entered service about 1970. Second, nobody has a cell phone. I'm therefore guessing it's set between 1970 and ca 1990. This lack

This lack of time coordinates bothered me more than I thought it would. Aside from that it was a fun read.

I enjoyed overall the book, but I faced few issues with it. First I could not put it to a certain time. I could guess it was 2nd half of 20th century and before mobiles became widespread. Overall it was ok read, but the final revelation was not completely surprising. However the ending is still slightly opened, there is no complete closure of the book, suggesting the main characters are far from being out of danger.

Peter Tremayne's so called horror novels are not for me. Scooby Doo is scarier. Lame I think is the word I'm looking for.

" Kiss of the Cobra King " is a song by the German power metal group Powerwolf . It was originally released on the album Return in Bloodred . [1] [2]
The song earned the Gold and Platinum Record award in Czech Republic. [3] [4]
The first version of "Kiss of the Cobra King" was released on Powerwolf's first studio album titled Return in Bloodred on 4 April 2005. [5]
In 2018 the song got covered by the metalcore band Caliban . [6] [7] It was available on the Deluxe Edition of Powerwolf's album The Sacrament of Sin . [8] [9] [10]
A re-written version of the song was released as a single on 1 November 2019. [11] [12]
The first version of the song tells a story about a wolf , which fights against a snake . [13] [14] The story is about the war between Romania and the Ottoman Empire under Vlad III Dracula . [15] According to older interviews, this is an old Romanian legend; the biography of The History of Heresy I , on the other hand, claims that the idea arose during a rehearsal session when Attila Dorn ordered a pop-up pop group to be quiet, otherwise they would be "bitten by the Cobra King." [16]
The 2019 version tells about Eve , the first woman according to the origin story of the Abrahamic religions , who's being tempted by the serpent of Eden to eat of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil .
The music video for the song was directed by Matteo Vdiva Fabbiani and Chiara Cerami. It was released on YouTube on 1 November 2019. [17] [18] It follows Eve as she's being tempted to eat an apple by Matthew Greywolf , Attila Dorn , Roel van Helden , Falk Maria Schlegel and Charles Greywolf .
Eve is played by Jezz von Sperling. The video also features Alessandro Adriano Dos Santos, Ari Denaro, Beatrice Baumann, Cristina Sech, Eva Hel, Furfur, Josephine Paulenz, Lily Kumpe, Lisa Vandalism, Lyna R. Lynanuye, Mary De Weirdo, Natalie Petek, Seilor Cernunnos, Setty Mois, Thenia AF. and Zora van der Blast. It was recorded in the Insomnia nightclub in Berlin .
