I've been using this for about 2 months now and it is, by far, my favorite leave in product for my curly hair! I had been using the same leave in product for years as it was the only thing I could find that made my hair shiny and made my curls behave. Even after it was discontinued I could still find it online and had stocked up. I recently depleted my supply and had searched online for a suitable replacement with no luck. I saw an article about Kinky Curly Knot Today and found it at a local store so thought I would try it. I was thrilled that I actually like it better than my old favorite!! It's creamy but not super thick and has a wonderful coconut smell! My old vaorite leave in had a slimy consistency where this is mostly creamy and just a little slimy. I put a generous amount of it in my soaking wet hair at the end of my shower, then I bend over and squeeze out the excess while scrunching up my curls. It dries nice and soft and not at all crispy or crunchy. The first time I used it I actually put it on my hair while it was just a little damp and was not happy with the results. Actually thought I didn't like the product. But, once I tried putting it on soaking wet hair, I realized I LOVE it! You can also use to to detangle knots and then rinse out if you don't use a leave in product but, if you have curly hair, you really should be using a leave in product! Since I have been using Kinky Curly Knot Today, I very rarely use a regular conditioner in my hair. I hardly ever wash my hair, something else that is good for us curly heads, so this is pretty much the only product I use in my hair on a daily basis. The ingredients are: Organic mango fruit extract, organic slippery elm, organic marshmallow root, organic lemongrass, cetyl alcohol, behentrimonium methosulfate, citric acid, phenoxyethanol and natural fragrance. This product is made in the USA, which is always a bonus as my family tries to buy as many products as we can that are made in the USA. And it is cruelty free, meaning no animal testing was done on this product. It's funny, I had been looking for a leave in product that has slippery and/or marshmallow root and didn't realize until looking at the ingredients just now that this contains both! If you have curly or wavy hair and are looking for something to get your knots out or a leave in to make your hair shiny and soft, you really should give this a try!

This is my favorite line of products for my hair at the moment. I have wavy/curly caucasian hair and love that these products tame my frizz and hold my curls. I have experimented with how to wash my hair using these, and have a good routine now. First, I use the shampoo (a little goes a long way), then the knot today conditioner (also do a little bit at a time until there are no knots) and splash my hair with cold water (some of the conditioner stays in since I don't rinse completely). I then add a tiny bit of the custard gel to the ends and length while my hair is wet. I part and brush my hair a bit to style while still very wet, then flip it front and back so that my hair wont be flat from the brushing (more volume basically). If I need to style my hair between washes while not using shampoo, I wet my hair, maybe use a bit of the conditioner to detangle, and use the spiral spritz instead of the gel. It leaves my hair with beachy waves (no curls usually, but still unique and beautiful and soft). Even just using the shampoo leaves my hair very soft (frizzy without the other products, though).

Bought this for one of my Black children only to discover it works equally well on one of my white kids' curly hair. It's really amazing for any curly hair that runs on the dry side, especially 3 A/B/C curl types. We use a quarter size amount in the shower and then don't rinse it completely and their hair looks incredible with really defined curls. In the morning, we use a water bottle with a little of this mixed in to refresh the curls. My son then uses the Spritz product to make his curls more defined and make them hold their shape all day, but for my daughters and longer-haired son we just spray with diluted Knot Today. It's fantastic, it is naturally fragranced so not as irritating for asthma, and it works so well. My only complaint is that I want a BIGGER bottle since I'm using it on 4 kids!

Omg..... after all these years I finally found something that worked for my very kinKY 4c hair ... I somewhat doubted the product that I even purchased another brand detangler just in case this one didn't work. But can I tell you, I had to make it a priority to write a review on this to share to those who are struggling like I was... usually it takes hours for me to wash and detangle my hair now it's such a breeze. The steps that I take when using it is that I put a pea size amount on my fingers and apply it to the roots and work it through the hair (finger detangling) then I move to another section (giving the first section a liL waiting time), afterwhich I move back to the first and use a paddle brush or a wide tooth comb to properly detangle. I continue like this until my entire hair is complete
This is the best stuff. I have been using it for a year now and I love it. I love that it is natural ingredients, and contains very little ingredients. I am a white girl with blonde beach waves and kinks.
