Let me start by saying I read reviews for everything before I buy it. That being said, bad reviews always stick out more than positive reviews and reading the negative reviews for this product I was hesitant to buy it especially considering the price.

So I went to Target to stock up on my Shea Moisture products. I saw this and I've heard a lot of good things about kinky curly from the natural hair community. I decided to read the Amazon reviews for it and went ahead and bought it even though I was hesitant. I went home, got in the shower used Shea Moisture moisture retention shampoo, conditioned with Shea Moisture Manuka honey conditioner, washed my body, then rinsed the conditioner out.
When I get out the shower I squeeze the excess water out, dry off and wrap my hair in a cotton t-shirt while I get dressed.
After all this I put the KC Knot Today in, a good sized glob for each half of my head, and just let it air dry. It is AMAZING. I actually get the curl definition I want and very minimal frizz. My hair is extremely dry and even on the second day my hair still feels moisturized.
I have 3C/4A hair and the crown is always a frizzy mess once it dries. (If anyone has a solution for that let me know lol)

Kinky-Curly Knot Today Leave In conditioner is my go to. I've been up using this product for a lot of years. I discovered it when I began using the Curly Girl Method, because it's silicone free. Too much protein is very drying on my 3a hair and this is protein free! A small amount provides nice "slip" and goes a long way. I don't think you can use too much as it's very light but at the same time very moisturizing. My hair is easily weighed down and this does not make it feel heavy or greasy. I think it would be nice for young kids too, curly or straight with the finest baby hair. My daughter has super thick, wavy hair and this works great in her hair too. I'll never stop buying this leave in! Hooked for life!

If you're a naturalista, you will love this product. I always have this in my curly hair product arsenal and I discovered this product about a year ago. I do have to look past the fact that some of the ingredients are questionable (i.e. phenoxyethanol and natural fragrance). On the bright side, it is paraben, sulfate, and silicone free. Aside from that, it leaves my hair feeling light and bouncy without the usual buildup from other leave-in's and conditioners that I've used. It's also a great detangler, my fingers glide right through my wet hair without much of a struggle. The way I like to style my hair with this is when I have damp hair, I'll section my hair and run about a dollop of product through each section and scrunch until the curl is defined. When it's about 85% dry, I'll scrunch up my hair a little more to loosen the curls. This last step is easy because the product doesn't weight down your hair and it does not make your hair stiff. I can't stress how much I love this product.

At first I wasn't crazy about it, but it's grown on me. It doesn't have as much slip as some other conditioners, but it has enough. I haven't noticed that much curl definition, but maybe I would see more if I used it as a leave-in. When I use it as a hair dressing I only use a dab. I like it because it is pretty much fragrance free and I don't have to use a lot of it. I will order this again.

I use it to scrunch into my hair after every shower, and I use the 'plopping' method to dry my hair. This product makes it so I have nice, bouncy curls, even though I have very long and heavy hair. I swim so my hair is already in a rough spot as it is, but this leave in conditioner gives it some life back. I really like it and I recommend it, and if you happen to use it in conjunction with the plopping method of drying hair, you'll have some really great results. Its the only hair curling product I use.
