On the podcast, we’ve discussed young Tootie’s wishes to ‘develop’ … and that she would eventually grow, quite a bit, in that department. What I didn’t realize was Kim Fields actually had breast reduction surgery, and in 1994, her post-Facts-Of-Life hit TV Show “Living Single” would directly address this by having her character, Regine, also undergo this surgery. (Bonus Happy: I was delighted to see stand-up comedian Elayne Boosler playing the role of the doctor.) Please to enjoy on Hulu: Living Single S2E11, “My Cups Runneth Over.”

Breast enlargements may be the most common surgery women
want when it comes to getting their dream body, but some celebs were actually
unhappy with their large breasts and opted for a surgical reduction.
While stars like Victoria Beckham, Pamela Anderson, Denise
Richards, and Sharon Osbourne decided to remove their implants or get smaller
ones, here are the real celebrities who’ve had breast reductions, getting rid
of some of their natural breast tissue.
After already becoming a star and going to rehab twice by
the age of 14, Drew Barrymore decided her DD cups were too large for her at the
age of 17.
“I really love my body and the way it is right now. There’s
something very awkward about women and their breasts because men look at them
so much. When they’re huge, you become very self-conscious. Your back hurts.
You find that whatever you wear, you look heavy in. It’s uncomfortable,” she
told New York Daily News in 2008.
Since losing a lot of weight didn’t affect her breast size
at all, Queen Latifah became one of the celebrities who’ve had breast
reductions in 2003. “I didn’t want to get it. But I had lost 25 pounds and my
breasts didn’t go anywhere! I was still carrying that load,” she told People.
Going from an “E or F” cup to a DD, the actress and singer actually thought she
went too far when the surgery leaft her with double Ds.
Another celebrity who opted for a breast reduction after
losing some weight, Roseanne Barr also wanted to change the shape of her breasts.
“They were like French bread. They’re round, not oblong now. When I lay down
they don’t cover my nose,” she explained to People magazine after getting the
surgery.
One of the celebrities who’ve had breast reductions with the
hopes that it would help their career, Janeane Garofalo identifies as asexual,
so she faced no pressure from a partner to keep them big. “I was a 36-C or -D,
and at five-foot-one, I knew that being a small person with big boobs standing
in front of an audience was not going to be easy,” she explained after going
down to a B cup, and feeling it “was the best thing in the whole world.”
“Millionaire Matchmaker” star Patti Stanger has actually
undergone two breast reduction surgeries because she kept gaining weight,
and… they grew back. “I had my first breast reduction and lift five years ago.
Then I had another one. I felt skinny and young again!” she told Life &
Style magazine in 2013.
Dealing with weight issues was also the reason why Star
Jones became one of the celebrities who’ve had breast reductions. The former
co-host of “The View” decided to get lap band surgery in 2003 to lose weight,
and also opted for a breast reduction. It took her years to admit that she had
gastic bypass surgery.
Star of “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Middle”, Patricia
Heaton decided to go under the knife for smaller breasts after the had her four
children. “My breasts were hanging down to here from breastfeeding those
babies, and my nipples were like platters. I wanted to fit into the gowns that
I finally got to wear,” she told People magazine.
One of the celebrities who’ve had breast reductions before
turning 18, actress and singer Kim Fields got her surgery at 16. Years later,
the character she played on “Living Single” had a similar storyline.
Known for her GG-sized breasts and her appearance on the UK
reality show “Celebrity Big Brother”, glamour model Casey Batchelor told the
Daily Star why she opted for a reduction: “My boobs have always been a huge insecurity.
I’m not saying my boobs are awful or anything, because they aren’t, but they
have never made me truly happy inside”.
Known for her role as “Punky Brewster”, Soleil Moon Frye
became one of the celebrities who’ve had breast reductions at the age of 15, going
from 38-DD’s to a more manageable 36-C. The actress didn’t only face back pain,
but also body image issues because of her huge breasts.
