The new Form I-9 has gone back to a one-page format, signifying the design used from 1986 to 2013. On the other hand, it now comprises two supplements, A and B, making it a “one-page plus” form.

For employers utilizing E-Verify, the reviewed form presents a checkbox to specify remote examination of identity and employment authorization credentials. This modification aligns with the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) alternative process for remote document inspection.

Formerly known as Section 3, the section on reverification and rehiring has been shifted to a distinct page, labeled Supplement B. This modification plans to abridge record-keeping during the rehiring process.
