Beyond the Aggressives: 25 Years Later is an American documentary film by Daniel Peddle. The documentary is a sequel to the 2005 film The Aggressives and reconnects to some of the masculine of center New York-based lesbians of color interviewed in the original.
Daniel Peddle's directorial debut, THE AGGRESSIVES (2005), is an immersive, unabashed and unapologetic film following the lives of trans men and masculine-presenting lesbians of color who eschew the language of the LGBTQIA+ world, and in doing so, give a voice to those who express their gender and sexuality in a wholly original manner.

Tropes: Butch Lesbian: "Aggressives" was a term for lesbians who are highly masculine in the New York City black community, and all except one of the people profiled in the original film fit this (aside from one East Asian who associates with them as well).
Two of the Aggressives are celebrities of a sort. Raji is recognized on the street for her appearance on a Ricki Lake episode titled "Straight Women Who Can't Resist Lesbian Studs" and is a frequent winner at the balls where she displays her ability to pass as a man (her ball trophy display case takes up most of her apartment).
The Aggressives is a documentary that attempts to explain who "Aggressives" are by following several women - Aggressives - for a period of about five years. From the beginning, this film is about gender, somewhat about sexuality and all about race.
With the support of a top NYC model management firm, coupled with Kisha's unique beauty and refreshingly bold personality, she scooped up ultra-cool campaigns for companies like Benetton, Stussy and Nike.

The theme of the movie is about six 20-something women of color that identify themselves as "aggressives", a sub-genre in the "butch" category of lesbians. Sort of.
