Can anybody tell me the meaning of keep your ass on the short??

Thanks!!
Give us context.

I can think of an idiom that sounds similar: Keep your pants on. It means "calm down". But I need context to see if it fix in the circumstances.
It doesn't sound to me at all like "keep your pants on." It sounds like an incomplete expression, missing a word or words.
