Halloween is coming early this year. September 30 sees the Disney+ premiere of Hocus Pocus 2 , the long-awaited sequel to the 1993 box office disappointment-turned-annual tradition . And the Sanderson Sisters appear to be in fine form in the just-released first trailer for the film, which reunites Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker as their witchy alter egos. Set nearly three decades after the events of the original film, Hocus Pocus 2 follows a new generation of high school students who accidentally summon Salem's premiere 17th-century troublemakers. Best friends Becca, Cassie and Izzy (played by Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckinghman and Belissa Escobedo respectively) are the trio who inadvertently summon the Sanderson siblings, and then have to prevent them from once again wreaking havoc on the town. "Lock up your children!" announces Midler's lead sister, Winifred. "Yes, Salem ... we're back!"
Speaking with Yahoo Entertainment two years ago , The Rose star called the first Hocus Pocus " one of the most fun experiences I ever had," which made the idea of signing on for a sequel a no-brainer. And Midler also teased that Hocus Pocus 2 would feature a new variation on the showstopping sequence from the original movie, where Winifred brings the house down with her rendition of the Screamin' Jay Hawkins standard, "I Put a Spell on You."
"[He] made the song immortal; I just cribbed it," Midler said at the time, adding that she wasn't sure what song Winifred would slay this time around. The Hocus Pocus 2 trailer confirms that she'll be warming up her pipes again, though. At the end of the teaser, a Salem resident warmly greets the sisters and says, "I bet you're looking for the stage." With a sly grin, Winifred replies, "Always."
On Twitter, fans are ready to summon Hocus Pocus 2 into their lives in September, especially as it'll help distract from the real perils happening in the world right now.

The 53-year-old dared to bare as she stripped down completely nude for the latest shoot by celebrity photographer Tyler Shields.
Kathy - who has been open about undergoing plastic surgery in the past - left little to the imagination as she sat naked at the edge of a pool exposing her toned back, slender waist and derriere.

With her fiery locks pulled to the side, the My Life On The D-List star stared off into the distance with her face angled in a seductive profile.
In another photo, she got into the pool and leaned backwards looking at the camera with her arms extended and her bare breasts exposed.

For a more artistic shot, Shields opted for a black and white photo of the Suddenly Susan actress, fully dressed and leaning against a mirror while holding up the same knife.
Kathy next lay on a table in a red gown as Tyler was seen holding the camera and taking the photo in the mirror.

The duo appeared to have a great time on the set together as Shields - who has worked with the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Emma Roberts and Demi Lovato - revealed in an interview.

'We met through A.J. McLean from the Backstreet Boys and she wanted to outdo him. She wanted to do something iconic.'

For the first time in the award show's history they were not broadcast on television and instead aired only online.
Acknowledging that fact, Griffin took to Twitter following her hosting gig and jokingly wrote, 'Thanks to all who watched me HOST the #DaytimeEMMYS. I appreciate every click:) '

Hocus Pocus 2 has received a new teaser trailer sure to delight fans with the return of the beloved Sanderson sisters.
Played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, the sisters are a trio of witches who headlined the original 1993 movie.
And now in the trailer for its sequel, they are summoned back from the beyond by a group of teenagers who perform an occult ritual.
Back at it: Hocus Pocus 2 has received a new teaser trailer featuring the return of the beloved Sanderson sisters played by (from left) Kathy Najimy, Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker
Michael Henry, Daryl Jim Diaz, and Tim Murray played the teens in the 1993 film, directed by Kenny Ortega, who later helmed High School Musical.
Meanwhile Whitney Peak, Belissa Escobedo and Lilia Buckingham play the group of youngsters who, along with the Sandersons, head up the cast of the new movie.
Whitney's character Becca is celebrating her 16th birthday and plans to have a typical quiet birthday with a 'scary movie marathon.'
Then viewers meet the magic shop owner Gilbert, played by Sam Richardson, whom Veep fans will recognize as the lovable and hyper-competent Richard Splett.

The arrival of the cat brings back memories of a character from the original film called Thackery Binx, a 17th century man who gets transfigured into a black cat and is doomed to live forever in his feline form.
In another throwback to the 1993 movie, the teaser includes a shot of the grave of Billy Butcherson, played by returning cast member Doug Jones.
Billy is the ex-boyfriend of the Bette Midler character Winifred Sanderson - ex because he philandered with the Sarah Jessica Parker character Sarah Sanderson.
