Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb going nude on "The Fourth Hour" of NBC's Today show is going pretty far, even for Kathie Lee and Hoda.
The hosts are known for their loud and sometimes off-the-wall stunts, but not all of them are just for show. Many are for a good cause, including a recent game involving Twizzlers to raise money and awareness for autism. The Twizzler Challenge landed Hoda a big, juicy kiss from Regis Philbin , according to Inquisitr , but thankfully that's not what led to the nude stunt.
According to a clip from Today , Kathie Lee and Hoda thought they had done it all on their show. Standing in their studio dressed in matching white robes, they took turns reminiscing about past risky moments on the show, including going makeup free earlier, working out the entire time they hosted, and removing the arm hair off just one of Hoda's arms.
Soon it was revealed the one thing they never did was to go nude during the show. Glancing at each other, Hoda and Kathie Lee disrobed and were fully revealed nude, yet neck to knee in nude pixels. Gifford explained the bare necessities to the camera.
The clip cut to the two women back in their robes (with glasses of wine nearby, of course), and Kathie Lee revealed the nude stunt was an April Fools' joke. Hoda and her co-host then revealed they were actually wearing clothes underneath the robes the entire time as if the audience didn't realize there was a catch on April Fools' Day.
The two looked fantastic in dresses, each in a different shade of nude.
It was good to see the duo joke around about going naked on April Fools' Day to have some extra fun, but as Kathie Lee told the audience, "Nobody wants to see that."
At least not before we've all had our morning glasses of wine.
E! Online reported Kathie Lee and Hoda's April Fools' nude joke was just one of many on talk shows that morning, including Kelly Ripa's fake pregnancy announcement .
