If you don’t know who actress Kat Dennings is, you’re seriously missing out. Sure, in the Marvel universe, she’s known as Darcy Lewis, the actual shy sidekick of Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) in two Thor films. However, if you’re familiar with Dennings' work ( Two Broke Girls, especially), you know that she usually plays characters who are FAR from shy. And if you follow her IG feed, you know that she’s far from a wilting wallflower.
Dennings sometimes appears to be a lot like her character Max on Broke Girls, at least that’s what her sense of humor projects. Max is a street-smart young woman who has large aspirations to open her own bakery one day with the help of her roommate and best friend Caroline (Beth Behrs), who is Max’s total opposite.

Whether she’s dressing down or dressing up, Kat has always managed to make any sort of outfit look amazing. Kat’s more glamorous in real life as compared to the characters she portrays, like Darcy or Max, at least that’s what she appears to be in photoshoots. She just makes it look so easy.
This bright shining star was born on June 13, 1986 in Pennsylvania and happens to be the youngest of five children, which is probably where she gets her startlingly excellent sense of humor (in a family with four other siblings and you’re the baby, you have to find a way to stand out in a crowd).
Kat has always had this soft, sophisticated, classic Hollywood look about her, which makes her extremely photogenic. Especially when she highlights her lips with scarlet red lipstick. On Two Broke Girls, Max must ALWAYS have her lipstick – it’s really one (of the only) lavish things she spends her hard-earned money on.
If you’re a fan of Two Broke Girls you know that the title characters of Max and Caroline had sort of a rocky first start when they met. Max’s boyfriend at the time hit on Caroline, and an untrustworthy Max didn’t believe her at first. But after she did, they became inseparable. Sort of like both Kat and Beth Behrs in real life.
Has Kat always been this stylish? Sure, she’s gone through all her awkward phases like most do when they’re in their adolescence (though we refuse to believe it just by looking at her now). She’s been known to say that she knows how to dress for her shape now and what to wear that highlights her beautiful attributes.
IS IT EVEN THIS FAIR TO BE THIS STUNNING WITHOUT ANY MAKEUP?? Not really, but you can’t help but simply adore Kat because she’s able to be hilarious while poking fun at herself at the same time. She pulls off the natural look so flawlessly thanks to her facial features. Gotta respect the color of the band-aid, too.
Aside from now pulling off a whole modern-fashion-icon look in certain magazines, Kat has been busy as heck since Two Broke Girls wrapped up in 2017 after going for six seasons (CBS ended up canceling the series before they could resolve some of the plot lines in the show). She’s currently starring in Hulu’s series Dollface.
Can we rightfully say that Kat is very much a Cat person? If you take a look at her IG feed, you’ll have to agree that YES, she is. Well, with a name like “Kat” anyway. She seems to have the same vibrant sense of independence as a cat would as well.
It’s always been said that every woman needs to have a little black dress that fits her like a glove in her closet. But in Kat’s case, we’re pretty sure she has a LOT more than just one that fits her so elegantly. It’s almost like she’s channeling her character Max here with a lot of the character’s dark clothing.
It almost looks as if Kat is recreating actress/model Marilyn Monroe’s famous “kissing face” clip where the actress makes it look like she’s kissing the camera with her famous lips. Kat’s lips have become a staple figure in Hollywood glamour and she always proves it with every picture she takes. Heck, even we’re jealous of them.
There are so many things that are stunning about Kat Dennings – her sense of humor, her charisma, her overall being, but one thing really stands out looks-wise: those eyes. Kat has hypnotic almost seafoam colored eyes that could render anyone helpless – from her boyfriends, to her friends, to her co-stars. She never fails to hypnotize with them. Thor – watch out.
This specific picture reminds us of the opening scene in La, La Land (sadly enough, a film that Kat WASN’T in – it was Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling who headlined that movie) but Kat posing in the car outside in LA reminds us of the musical number in the beginning where everyone gets out of their cars in traffic to sing and dance.
This has to be one of our favorite pictures of Kat – and, of course, it’s in a classic black and white format. Everything from her makeup, to her side expression, to her outfit, to the way she’s holding the coffee mug is simply perfection. Clearly, this shot was taken on either a TV or movie set (judging by the background), which makes it perfect.
A lot of Kat’s co-stars say that she’s wildly unpredictable, and we have to believe them just by looking at some of the pictures she poses for. Do we actually know WHY she’s wearing this “Hey” shirt under a very fashionable coat? Not really, but we assume it has something to do with her charisma – as usual.
If anyone can make the smoky eye look paired off with peach/coral tinted lips, it’s Kat Dennings. For those who don’t know, in addition to acting, Kat maintained a blog on her website talking about her life for nearly 10 years (afterward, she transitioned to video blogging). Wonder if she’ll ever transition to screenplay writing or directing somewhere in the near future?
One thing that will always make us jealous is the fact that Kat looks this stunning all natural. Fun fact: Dennings is not actually her real last name. She was born Katherine Victoria Litwick and lived in Pennsylvania with her mother, a poet, and her father, a molecular pharmacologist. She changed her name when she moved to LA with her family.
Kat was only a mere 10-years old when she first started her on-screen career. She was cast in a commercial for potato chips, oddly enough. From there, her first professional gig happened to be on HBO’s Sex and the City in 2000 followed by her starring in the short-lived WB sitcom with Bob Saget and Brie Larson called Raising Dad.
Despite posing with a bottle of champagne here, Kat has gone on the record to say she doesn’t drink. Back in 2008 during an interview with BlackBook magazine, Kat said: “I don’t drink and I don’t smoke and I don’t like being around people who do.” So we can probably be sure that she tossed that champagne into the trash can she’s resting on.
Not a lot of people can pull off the whole “pigtails” look in their adult life, but Kat has such a youthful appearance that she actually makes this look appear absolutely spectacular. It really wasn’t too often when you would see Max on Two Broke Girls really switch up her hairstyle, so this is a nice little surprise to see Kat do it.
Kat has proven beyond measure that she has the absolute Hollywood staying power and a lifetime career at that. We get to see her again as Darcy Lewis in the Disney+ series Wandavision, a series that’s all set to premiere in 2020. We don’t know if we’re gonna see her in the new female Thor movie starring Natalie Portman, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

Beth Behrs is mostly only known for her role as the second most annoying girl in 2 Broke Girls. Much like in real life, she portrays a spoiled girl desperately trying to make it in life after her safety net went away.
She is barely noticed on the show since the entire script is filled in by laugh tracks. Currently, it is unlikely that the show will be renewed, so she is stuck like a deer (with subpar acting skills) in the headlights.
