Kacey Musgraves, 33, blew viewers away this weekend during a powerful performance on the season premiere of NBC's Saturday Night Live. After singing her hit, "Camera Roll," Kacey returned to perform a second song, "Justified," totally nude.
Talk about truly leaving it all onstage—Kacey wore only her guitar and a pair of brown cowboy boots during the performance, which fans couldn't stop talking about on Twitter. "Kacey Musgraves was absolutely justified tonight. Love a country Queen 👑," one user wrote .
Others pointed out that Kacey's look reminded them of a certain movie character. "Kacey Musgraves bares it all while channeling Jenny from Forrest Gump during her SNL performance tonight," another Tweet read. And some viewers were brand new Kacey converts: "I didn't know who Kacey Musgraves was until tonight but I'm a fan now. her songs have me like 😢," one new fan Tweeted .
So, just how does Kacey stay so fit for her killer moments onstage? Her trainer, Erin Oprea, is big into working with celebs—some of her other clients include stars like Maren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini.
Erin told Us Weekly that Kacey is a big fan of HIIT workouts, which usually involve 20 seconds of intense exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest, for four minutes total. The country singer also loves Pure Barre classes —so much so, that she brings a barre DVD with her whenever she travels, Erin said.
Erin also said that Kacey pumps herself up for her workouts with some...interesting playlists. “Sometimes it’s not even in our language. I’m like, ‘What is this? How is this motivating you?’ But it makes her happy and I’m like, ‘If it makes you happy, that’s all that matters.’” “She looks incredible and has worked so hard,” Erin added (which, I totally agree there!).
Lately, Kacey has also been revamping her mental health routine. She journals and does pottery to relax. Kacey makes extra time to ride her horse, too, “because that’s what makes my soul really happy,” she said. “I just want to continue to make healthy choices for myself physically, mentally,” the singer told Rolling Stone.
As for what she eats, Erin said Kacey follows her 4x4 nutrition plan, which she explains is “a clean, healthy, balanced lifestyle so that they can still enjoy the foods they love, but in moderation.”
The plan does allow for alcohol, although Erin mentioned that “I’m not saying you can drink as much alcohol as you want, but I try to limit them to two drinks a week, which a lot of people are like, ‘Oh jeez! I need wine every night, that’s bologna!’ But literally you can do that.”
Honestly, if it helps make Kacey's onstage moments this iconic, I'm in.

Country singer Kacey Musgraves performed totally nude in what has been confirmed as a first for Saturday Night Live.
Saturday Night Live kicked off their 47th season with a first for the show: nudity.
Yes, musical guest Kacey Musgraves was actually singing in the nude as she performed the song Justified off her new album star-crossed, wearing only a pair of cowboy boots as she strummed the guitar.
Last Saturday’s performance marked the first stripped-down moment in the comedy show’s history, with the episode now streaming on Binge .
“She was nude,” Musgraves’ publicist confirmed to Variety . “Precautions were taken, and this was the first time it’s happened on the show.”
The mood-lighting set up for Musgraves made it a little difficult to tell if she was actually singing nude, but this statement clears the air.
Musgraves herself teased the performance on Twitter, sharing an image from a famous scene in Forrest Gump in which Jenny (Robin Wright), using the same guitar-as-clothes technique, performs nude.
Musgraves’ rep did confirm that she was shielded from the audience by a sheet as the performance was set up. Audience members shared their experiences watching the set-up for SNL ’s first nudity scene on Reddit.

“Was at the live,” one user wrote. “Pretty sure she was actually naked. I was on the audience side closest to her. Right before her first song, they set up a movable wall, blocking the audience from seeing her. After the song, they moved it back to cover her again and covered her with some sort of towel/robe. She was super chill, kinda walked off stage in the towel and waved. But yeah, seemed pretty legit.”
Although her performance of Justified was a real show-stopper, Musgraves returned for another fully-clothed performance of Camera Roll. This time around, the singer wore a get-up that S NL has surely seen before: a flannel shirt and jeans.
