Luckily, my return coincided with the rising popularity of the restaurant Chaiiwala, which expanded its franchise into London after opening up in Leicester. Then, in , one restaurant took it a step further and offered exactly what I had been craving since my experience back home. Cha Sha in Wembley opened up with an outdoor seating space and decor that truly captured the vibe of Karachi. The restaurant offers different types of chai served in a matka clay pot and heated up using hot sand, alongside authentic street food and snacks that you can enjoy sitting outdoors especially in the summer. In fact, during the Covid lockdown in the summer of , the restaurant's outdoor seating area gained further popularity when customers were advised to dine al-fresco. Through word of mouth and the power of social media, the restaurant soon went viral on TikTok, resulting in people willing to queue up to get a space to sit and a taste of their matka Karak Chai. With a big outdoor space, traditional decor and Pakistani Coke Studio music playing in the background, Cha Sha provided that 'homely' feel which took you right back to the streets of Karachi.
