Frequently asked questions

Why did my focus session fail?

Focus Guard is Kaizen's core rule: leaving the app during a running focus session fails it and costs XP. You get a short grace period (5–30 seconds, adjustable in Settings) for accidental swipes — after that, the session ends and counts as abandoned. This can't be turned off; it's the whole point of the app.

Why won't a task let me check it off?

Checkmarks are earned. A task can only be marked done after at least one completed focus block has been logged against it. Tap the task to start a focus session on it.

Will my data show up on my other devices?

No. Kaizen stores everything locally on your device only — there's no account and no sync. Data doesn't transfer if you switch phones or reinstall the app.

I turned on notifications but I'm not getting reminders.

Check that notifications are allowed for Kaizen in your phone's system Settings, and that you have study times or an active session that would trigger one. Reminders are scheduled locally and won't arrive if the app was force-quit from the app switcher.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Email ahmetyadgarovjust@gmail.com with what happened (or what you'd like to see) and, if possible, what screen you were on. I read every message.
