Little Hagia Sophia Built between 527 and 536 by Emperor Justinian to commemorate the two Roman legionaries Sergios and Bacchus, the Little Hagia Sophia (Küçük Aya Sofya Camii) was the architectural model of the big sister Hagia Sophia, once the most powerful church of early Christianity and the Byzantine Empire.
Little Hagia Sophia, also known as the Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus, is a historical and architectural gem located in Istanbul, Turkey. This Byzantine-era structure showcases stunning examples of early Christian and Islamic architecture, making it a must-visit attraction for history and art enthusiasts.
Named after Sergius and Bacchus, the two patron saints of Christians in the Roman army, the building has been known as Little (Küçük in Turkish) Aya Sofya for much of its existence. Its dome is architecturally noteworthy and its plan - an irregular octagon - is quite unusual.

One of my favourite parts of Istanbul. Walk through the Grand Bazaar and the Egyptian Bazaar and keep on going. You will leave behind the tourist shops and find where the locals shop. A maze of lanes selling everything from baskets, to copper, to wood workers selling their wares - at the lowest prices.
