Halle Berry is sharing her fiery thoughts on child support.
Earlier this week, the 54-year-old Oscar winner took to her Instagram to share a post with the quote “Women don’t owe you s–t.” The comments on her post then turned into a heated debate on gender roles.
Without actually mentioning her ex Gabriel Aubry by name, Halle did allude to funding his “lifestyle” through child support payments for their 12-year-old daughter Nahla .
“It takes great strength eryday to pay it. and BTW it’s wrong and it’s extortion !” Halle wrote.
If you didn’t know, Halle was ordered by the courts in 2014 to pay the 44-year-old Canadian $16,000 a month in child support to help with their daughter Nahla . Halle also shares 7-year-old son Maceo with ex-husband Olivier Martinez .
Halle continued sharing her thoughts on the matter in the comments, writing, “i’ve been paying it for a decade now. i feel if a woman or man is having to pay support that is way more than the reasonable needs to help SUPPORT the child, i think that is wrong !”
Halle went on to add, “i understand some parents (man or woman) may need help, but i also feel in these modern times both men and women have the responsibility to financially take care of their children and work hard and make every effort to do so.”
Halle said that she believes child support payments can be abused in some cases, writing “the way many laws are set up, people are allowed to USE children in order to be awarded money to live a lifestyle that not only did they not earn, but that is way above and beyond the child’s reasonable needs and that is ‘THE WRONG’ and where i see the abuse.”
Halle also called child support laws “outdated,” claiming they “no longer reflect the modern world.” She added, “i can say i’m living it everyday and i can tell you it’s hard. i do totally understand the feelings of those men who feel they are and have been taken advantage of by the system.”
Gabriel has not yet publicly addressed Halle ‘s comments concerning the child support.

The 44-year-old actor is best known for his work as Elijah Mikaelson on The Vampire Diaries and the spin-off series The Originals . He now stars as Mark on the Netflix series Virgin River .
Daniel split from longtime wife Rachael Leigh Cook back in June 2019 after 14 years of marriage.
On Thursday (February 11), Daniel took to his Instagram Stories and shared a new photo he snapped with girlfriend Julia Misaki . He drew a heart over the photo, in which she’s seen resting her head on his shoulder.

The final season of Younger is almost done filming and it’s Hilary Duff ‘s final day on set.
The 33-year-old actress plays magazine editor Kelsey Peters on the TV Land series, which is rumored to be ending after the upcoming seventh season. The network hasn’t announced the end of the series just yet, but it has been reported that the show will wrap up.
Hilary revealed on her Instagram Stories on Thursday (February 11) that it’s her final day on set and she said her family already traveled back to Los Angeles.
Debi Mazar and Molly Bernard both took to Instagram to mark the sad day.
“If I look sad or shlumpy in this photo, it’s because I am. Last night I filmed my final scene with @hilaryduff after 7 seasons on #YOUNGER!! I adore this woman & I’m so proud of her. Not only is she a FIERCE broad, an amazing mother, but also a generous, seasoned actress with a wicked sense of humor,” Debi said .
She continued, “ Hilary was brave enough to finish out this season in NYC (she’s a Los Angeles gal) during a pandemic, and VERY pregnant!!! Gerard Butler is seen leaving a medical building after an appointment on Tuesday (February 9) in Los Angeles.
The 51-year-old actor was seen with a bandage on his arm and it looks like he had some blood work done at the check-up.
Gerard turned 50 back in November 2019 and he just revealed some details about how he celebrated his 50th birthday.
“I’m not a birthday party guy. I’ve often, on my birthday, at 7pm, said ‘okay, let’s have dinner.’ And everybody is told with 15 minutes to spare,” he said in an interview with Total Film .
“But this time, I actually did a big event in Costa Rica and brought loads of friends down. And it was very, very powerful. We brought down a lot of spiritual people, a lot of performers,” Gerard said. “We did a lot of environmental stuff, like releasing sea turtles out into the ocean. It was such a mix of so many things, I’m so glad I did it.”

Bam Margera is calling for a boycott of the upcoming movie Jackass 4 after he says he was not included in the project.
The 41-year-old former MTV star claims that his ideas were used for the film, but they wouldn’t include him in it.
“I’m not in Jackass 4 , and if anybody cares about me don’t go see their movie because I will make mine way f – – king radder if you just Venmo me a dollar,” Bam said in a video that was released by TMZ .
He added, “I wrote them so many ideas, and if I’m not in the movie, and they use my ideas, how do you think that that’ll make me feel?”
Bam continued to ask for money from fans in a second video.
“If you’re a fan of mine, you would understand the f – – king pain that I’m going through,” he said. “If anybody cares about me at all, then throw me a f – – king bone and send a dollar to this Venmo.”
“ Jackass does not care about me, understand that ladies and gentlemen. It’s like, it was like my family, that won’t let me in because they say I’m out there being a jackass on TMZ. So I can’t be in Jackass ’cause I’m out there being a jackass?” he asked at the end of the second video.
