Junior Research Analyst

Junior Research Analyst

Digital nomads. Work from anywhere

Company: Olive Tree Consulting Group

The Junior Research Analyst supports our team as we work with a Dutch financial technology group on refining their internal management rhythms. This role focuses on observing how information moves and identifying where structural habits are slowing down decision making. It is a full time, fully remote position designed for someone who enjoys organizing complex information into simple, written formats.
About the role
Olive Tree Consulting helps teams move from vague alignment to clear ownership. For our work with a fintech partner, we need someone to help us map out how tasks are handed off and how priorities are tracked over time. You will assist our senior advisors by capturing the small details that reveal how a company actually functions versus how it says it functions. This work is essential because it provides the factual basis for our recommendations. Because we operate as a remote firm, you will rely heavily on written communication and digital tools to stay aligned with the team.
What you will do
* Review meeting notes and internal documents to identify recurring themes or unresolved decisions.
* Maintain project logs that track who owns specific tasks and when they are due.
* Map out simple diagrams that show how different departments hand off work to one another.
* Conduct research on management practices that fit the specific culture of the fintech sector.
* Prepare summaries of internal interviews to help advisors spot patterns in team behavior.
* Organize our digital library of client materials so that the most current information is always accessible.
* Draft plain English reports that describe current workflows without using jargon or corporate filler.
* Help coordinate the schedule for remote workshops and discovery sessions.
What we are looking for
* A strong ability to listen and summarize what was said without losing the core meaning.
* A preference for clarity over complexity in all forms of writing.
* Strict attention to detail, particularly when it comes to tracking dates, names, and specific commitments.
* An ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying connected to the team.
* A calm approach to handling varied tasks and changing schedules.
* Curiosity about how businesses are run and why certain teams perform better than others.
* High standards for the quality and accuracy of your own work.
Helpful background
* A degree in business, communications, social sciences, or a related field.
* Experience with basic data organization tools like spreadsheets or note-taking applications.
* Prior internships or university projects where you had to manage a schedule or coordinate a group.
* Experience working or studying in a remote setting.
* Comfort reading through professional documents to find specific answers.
* A clear, natural writing style that avoids academic or corporate filler words.
What we offer
We provide a work environment that values quiet focus and thoughtful preparation over constant meetings. This is a permanent, full time position, and the pay is competitive for the entry level market. As a remote first company, we offer the flexibility to work from a location that suits you, provided you can maintain a consistent schedule and participate in our core communication rhythms. You will have the chance to learn how large organizations solve friction and improve their internal operations from the ground up.
About Olive Tree Consulting
Olive Tree Consulting Group is a focused advisory practice that helps leadership teams solve recurring management issues. We typically work on the space between strategy and daily execution. A team can have very capable people and still find that decisions keep reopening, priorities stall, or responsibility remains unclear. These are rarely personality problems: they are structural habits that have not kept up with the company growth.
We favor practical changes over large scale transformation programs. Our work involves looking at how decisions are made, how meetings are run, and how ownership is recorded. We prefer useful written notes and clear ownership over polished presentations and vague alignment. Good advisory work should make things plainer and leave the team with a rhythm they can continue on their own.
The firm is built on the principle that memory is not a management system. We help teams create the smallest possible written record to support their work so that important follow up does not depend on who was in the room or who has the best memory. The goal is a quieter management pattern that makes the existing work easier to lead.
