Junior Reporting Analyst
Digital nomads. Work from anywhereCompany: JHC Consulting
JHC Consulting is currently supporting a major European financial services partner on a long term advisory mandate. We are looking for a Junior Reporting Analyst to join our team in a full time, remote capacity. This role is a starting point for individuals who want to practice the discipline of analytical writing and corporate scrutiny. You will support our principals by organizing the raw material that forms our formal counsel to board members and executives. This is not a typical data entry position, it is a role designed for someone who enjoys the meticulous work of discovering the narrative within the numbers.
The Role
As a Junior Reporting Analyst, your time is spent in the reading and processing of internal data, meeting minutes, and corporate reports. You will examine corporate disclosures, internal policy documents, and financial summaries to identify inconsistencies or areas that require greater clarity. Instead of building presentations or slide decks, you will draft clear, concise summaries of your findings in a narrative format. You will be expected to organize large volumes of information into logical structures that our principals can use for their final memoranda. This involves checking facts, verifying dates, and ensuring that every claim in a document has a supporting piece of primary evidence. The work is quiet, focused, and requires a high degree of concentration.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone with a strong background in analytical thinking and clear expression. While this is an entry level role, you should possess a high degree of intellectual maturity. You should be comfortable reading through dense financial reports or technical documents and extracting the most important points. We value the following attributes:
* A university degree in a field that requires significant writing and logic, such as history, law, economics, or philosophy.
* The ability to write with extreme precision, avoiding fluff and corporate jargon.
* A willingness to accept rigorous critique and multiple rounds of revision on your work.
* Basic familiarity with financial terminology and how large organizations are governed.
* The self discipline to manage your own schedule and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
* Curiosity about how decisions are made at the highest levels of industry.
* A high level of discretion when handling sensitive corporate information.
How We Work
At JHC Consulting, we do not use slides or participate in traditional management consulting ceremonies. We believe that writing a memorandum is the only way to achieve true clarity of thought. Our model is built on individual authorship. Every note or report we provide to a client is signed by the individual who conducted the analysis. This creates a high standard of individual accountability. We value the quiet work of thinking and drafting over the noise of constant video calls. For a Junior Reporting Analyst, this means you will have the space to focus on your assignments without the distractions of a traditional office environment.
Working at JHC Consulting
This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from wherever you are most productive. We operate as a distributed firm and rely on the autonomy of our staff to maintain the quality of our output. Because we are a small and deliberate practice, you will have the opportunity to observe how senior principals with backgrounds in corporate finance and asset management approach complex problems. The position is a permanent, full time role, and the pay is competitive for the role and the market. We provide a workplace where the primary metric of success is the quality of the written argument rather than the hours spent at a desk.
The work we do for our European financial services partner is sensitive and demands total discretion. Every piece of work we produce remains on file as a formal record of our counsel. As you develop in this role, your aim will be to move from summarizing information to offering the type of sharp, dissenting read that our firm is known for. We treat the signed document as a mark of personal integrity. By joining us, you are making a commitment to the discipline of the written word and the rigorous pursuit of truth in corporate strategy.
