Junior Interface Developer
Digital nomads. Work from anywhereCompany: Alpine Business Consulting
Alpine Business Consulting is a team of specialists focused on fixing enterprise systems that have lost their way. Many organizations invest heavily in complex planning and reporting tools only to find that poor implementation has left their finance teams with mismatched numbers and manual workarounds. We step in to clean up the data and configure these systems properly. Currently, we are working with a Munich-based financial partner to stabilize their reporting layer and ensure their data flows correctly between different cloud environments. This Junior Interface Developer position is a full-time, fully remote role where you will help build the connections that make a single source of truth possible.
About the role
In this role, you will be the bridge between technical data sources and functional finance users. You will assist our senior consultants in developing and maintaining the interfaces that move data into Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and modern analytics stacks. This is not about building flashy front-end features: it is about ensuring that the background processes are reliable, documented, and predictable. Because we are a remote organization, you will collaborate with the team through digital channels, focusing on clear communication and technical accuracy. You will learn how to handle complex data mapping and how to build integrations that do not break when a system updates.
What you will do
* Support the development and maintenance of API connections between financial source systems and reporting tools.
* Assist in writing and testing scripts to automate data collection and transformation tasks.
* Create and update technical documentation that allows our clients to maintain their systems independently after handover.
* Work with SQL and other database tools to verify that data remains clean and accurate during the transfer process.
* Monitor existing data pipelines to identify and fix errors before they impact the end users.
* Participate in configuration workshops to understand how our Munich-based financial partner uses their data.
* Help prepare test cases for new interface deployments to ensure high quality and reliability.
* Collaborate with senior consultants to learn best practices for enterprise system architecture.
What we need from you
* Basic familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell.
* A working knowledge of SQL and an understanding of how relational databases are structured.
* An interest in how data moves through APIs and an awareness of formats like JSON and XML.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to getting the configuration right the first time.
* The ability to write clear, plain-spoken documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
* A logical approach to problem-solving and the patience to debug complex data issues.
* Comfort working in a fully remote environment where self-management and reliability are essential.
* Foundational knowledge of finance or accounting concepts is helpful but not required.
* A degree or certificate in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
How we work
We avoid corporate fluff and high-energy slogans. At Alpine Business Consulting, we value transparency and predictability. We provide fixed-price quotes to our clients, which means our work must be efficient and well-planned. Our consultants have spent years in the field and bring real-world experience to every project. As a junior member of the team, you will be given the tools and guidance to build a solid technical foundation. We do not treat our juniors as a shortcut for cheap labor: we treat you as a future consultant who needs to learn how to do things properly from the start. We prioritize documentation and clean configuration over quick, messy fixes.
What you get
Working with us means skipping the office politics and focusing on the technical challenges of enterprise data. This position is a paid role, and the pay is attractive and competitive for the current market and your level of experience. You will have the opportunity to work directly on high-stakes projects for major organizations, such as our current Munich-based financial client. Since the role is completely remote, you have the flexibility to manage your workspace and avoid a daily commute. You will gain hands-on experience with the specific tools and methodologies that large-scale finance teams use to manage their global operations.
Our focus is on handing over systems that the client can actually use. We do not want our clients to be dependent on us forever. We want them to have a configuration that works and the guides they need to stay independent. If you prefer building reliable systems over chasing the latest industry hype, you will fit in well here. We look for people who are thorough, honest about what they know, and willing to put in the work to get the data right.
