Junior Data Specialist (Python and SQL)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Specialist to join our team. As a Junior Data Specialist, you will be responsible for data extraction, understanding, normalization, and outlier detection using Python and SQL. This position requires strong knowledge of SQL and proficiency in Python, particularly its libraries for data processing in the context of machine learning. Familiarity with data normalization concepts for machine learning, including working with time series data, is essential. The candidate should have at least one year of experience in this field. Responsibilities:

• Utilize SQL to extract data from various databases, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
• Utilize Python and its relevant libraries (such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) to clean, process and normalize data for machine learning tasks.
• Develop and implement scripts / algorithms using Python to detect outliers and anomalies in the data, contributing to data integrity and preprocessing efforts.
• Analyze and interpret data to gain insights into underlying patterns and trends, including working with time series data.
• Assist in generating reports and visualizations to communicate data findings effectively to stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of one year of experience in data analysis or a related field, with hands-on experience in Python and SQL .
• Strong knowledge of SQL, with the ability to write queries for data extraction and manipulation.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with its libraries used for data processing such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, etc.
• Familiarity with data normalization concepts for machine learning, such as feature scaling, handling categorical variables, dealing with missing values and working with time series.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and reliable results.
• Nice to have: Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and experience with machine learning frameworks or libraries.
