Junior Data Operations Analyst
Digital nomads. Work from anywhereCompany: Gulf Associates
We are looking for a Junior Data Operations Analyst to join our team and assist with our current advisory work for a leading French logistics group that is expanding its operations. At Gulf Associates, we distance ourselves from generic models and the theoretical reports common in larger consultancies. Instead, we prioritize commercial judgment and ground reality. This entry level position is fully remote and focuses on gathering, cleaning, and organizing the data that helps our senior partners advise on high stakes investments and partnership decisions.
What you will do
* Organize and clean datasets related to competitor behavior and market performance within the territory.
* Conduct targeted research to help the team understand the actual logic governing specific commercial environments.
* Support senior partners by preparing data visualizations and summaries that clarify complex investment scenarios.
* Monitor the accuracy and quality of incoming data from various sources to ensure our advice is built on a solid foundation.
* Assist in building basic models that track how counterparty actions might affect our client expansion plans.
* Draft internal briefing notes that translate raw numbers into clear, concise updates for the project team.
* Maintain our internal data repositories to ensure all team members have access to the latest market evidence.
* Collaborate with associates to verify facts and sources before they are included in final client positions.
What you bring
* Recent academic background in business, data science, economics, or a similar field that requires logical thinking.
* High level of comfort with tools like Microsoft Excel for sorting, filtering, and interpreting information.
* Strong writing skills and the ability to explain complex findings in plain, direct English.
* A disciplined approach to work with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Genuine commercial curiosity and an interest in how private deals interact with state capital.
* The ability to work effectively in a fully remote team while managing your own schedule and tasks.
* Basic knowledge of how to structure data so it can be easily analyzed and reported on by others.
* A preference for finding the practical reality behind a dataset rather than just following a set of instructions.
What we offer
* A permanent, full time role that is fully remote, allowing you to work from wherever you are most productive.
* Attractive and competitive pay for an entry level position in the advisory sector.
* Direct exposure to senior decision makers and the internal logic of high stakes commercial negotiations.
* A working environment that values professional growth and the development of commercial judgment.
* The chance to work on high impact projects where your contributions directly support a client expansion strategy.
Working at Gulf Associates
Gulf Associates operates on the belief that senior partners should be involved in every stage of an engagement. We do not produce reports for the sake of output: we produce positions that our clients can actually act on. Our culture is grounded, direct, and focused on the reality of how deals are settled in the room during negotiations. We handle a small book of active engagements to ensure that every team member has the time to think deeply and reach the right conclusion. This role is ideal for someone who wants to move past abstract theories and understand how business functions when the stakes are high. You will be expected to be honest about what the data shows and disciplined in how you present it, contributing to a firm that is comfortable being measured by the results of its advice.
