Junior Business Analyst
Digital nomads. Work from anywhereCompany: Olive Tree Consulting Group
We are currently supporting a significant project for a major Dutch logistics firm, helping them organize their internal leadership habits. In this context, we are looking for a Junior Business Analyst to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is essential for turning client discussions into clear, actionable records that keep projects moving forward. As a fully remote position, it offers the flexibility to work from your own environment while being an active part of our advisory team.
About the Role
The Junior Business Analyst exists to bring order to the information we gather from our clients. While our lead advisors focus on identifying structural habits that slow a company down, you will be responsible for catching the details. You will listen to how the Dutch logistics team works, identify where their current processes are causing friction, and help us draft simpler ways for them to coordinate. This is not about building complex models or high-pressure pitching. It is about careful observation and making sure that every decision made in a meeting is recorded and assigned to the right person.
What You Will Do
* Participate in remote interviews with client teams to record clear, structured briefing notes.
* Analyze how information moves between different logistics departments to identify gaps in communication.
* Map out simple handoff points between teams where responsibilities are currently unclear.
* Maintain and update project trackers to ensure all client actions are followed up on time.
* Draft plain English summaries of weekly progress for both our internal team and the client leadership.
* Help organize client documentation to ensure it is easy to navigate and simple to maintain.
* Check for inconsistencies in how different teams record their work and suggest practical fixes.
* Prepare basic reports that highlight recurring issues in meeting rhythms or decision patterns.
What We Are Looking For
* A natural habit of taking thorough and accurate notes during complex discussions.
* The ability to write clearly without using corporate jargon or unnecessary filler words.
* Curiosity about how large organizations actually function and why they sometimes stall.
* Strong attention to detail and a preference for having everything in its right place.
* A calm and professional manner when communicating with people at various levels of a company.
* The self-discipline to stay productive and organized in a fully remote work setting.
* A practical mindset that favors simple, written solutions over complicated software.
Helpful Background
* An interest in the logistics industry or organizational behavior.
* Basic familiarity with tools like Excel, Notion, or other information management systems.
* Previous experience in an administrative or entry-level analytical role where writing was a main task.
* A degree or recent course of study in business, social sciences, or a related field.
* Comfort working in a digital-first environment using tools for remote coordination.
* Strong reading comprehension and the ability to summarize long discussions quickly.
What We Offer
This is a permanent, full-time position that is entirely remote. We provide a professional environment where the work is focused and the communication is direct. The role is paid, and we offer a salary that is competitive within the entry-level advisory market. You will have the chance to learn how a boutique consultancy operates and build a foundation in business analysis by working on real client issues. We value a quiet, steady work rhythm and respect your time and focus.
About Olive Tree
Olive Tree Consulting Group is a focused advisory practice that helps leadership teams solve recurring management issues. We typically work on the space between strategy and daily execution. A team can have very capable people and still find that decisions keep reopening, priorities stall, or responsibility remains unclear. These are rarely personality problems: they are structural habits that have not kept up with the company's growth.
We favor practical changes over large-scale transformation programs. Our work involves looking at how decisions are made, how meetings are run, and how ownership is recorded. We prefer useful written notes and clear ownership over polished presentations and vague alignment. Good advisory work should make things plainer and leave the team with a rhythm they can continue on their own.
The firm is built on the principle that memory is not a management system. We help teams create the smallest possible written record to support their work so that important follow-up does not depend on who was in the room or who has the best memory. The goal is a quieter management pattern that makes the existing work easier to lead.
