People become famous for all sorts of reasons. Some make their name in fields like acting and singing, and they dedicate years of their life to trying to hit the big time. Others go down the reality TV route and use their charisma and love for the spotlight to help them develop a career. Then, of course, there are those who stand out in the world of sport.
So many athletes are celebrated for their achievements on the court, track, or field, and it’s usually a long while before their popularity begins to fade. However, not every famous face in sport is a competitor. Some people become just as renowned as those earning medals and winning games because they offer something that the viewers love. That was the case with “Jungle Pam,” who dominated the racing world in the 1970s without ever getting behind the wheel of a car.
When it comes to motorsport, there are several different types of racing, all of which are distinct from one another. However, every so often, something would go wrong, and it would shake Pamela to the core. No-one wants to see such things happen at work, especially when it has fatal consequences.
Fortunately, most incidents didn’t end in loss of life, although there were some pretty horrific injuries. Once, during a race in Orange County, a driver nearly lost his foot after the hydraulic rod in his engine came through the car. Pam could only stand on the sidelines and watch everything unfold. It definitely left her uneasy, but she knew that the sport came with its risks.
It wasn’t just the drivers who sometimes put their life on the lines at the racetrack. Pam’s job could also be dangerous at times, as evidenced by one incident she had while in Englishtown. She and Jim were going about things as normal, when their car suddenly turned against them. Liberman booted up the engine without removing the mag wire, causing a gas can to explode.
The problem was that it set off right next to Pamela, who was checking under the vehicle’s body at the time. Thankfully, she wasn’t injured by the accident. However, the fear of what could have happened was hard to escape from. It definitely left the woman shaken, although she didn’t let that deter her from her job. She wasn’t going to allow one mishap get in the way of her passion.
Pamela was popular with motorsport crowds for several reasons, although it was her outfit choices that usually stood out the most. People loved what she wore because her clothes were typically complimentary to her body. Dressed in low-cut tops and short shorts, she definitely felt comfortable showing off her body, and the audience enjoyed that.
